We have a mod position open...

To be a moderator is a challenging task believe it or not. Being able to tell the difference from trolling and an opinion is a must. Also being mindful of what you post makes a good moderator. When others see that you've broken the rules they feel like if he can do it so can i and that makes others feel as thoa they can do whatever they want now.

I'm humble to say that i could be one but i'm honest enough to say ive been a buthead from time to time. Two people that i think should be considered are catman and Mr Scot although i think they've been considered in the past.

See below.

In all seriousness, I think Mr. Scot (although he's not interested), DP, Jase, Bleys, and P55 are all reasonable candidates if my awesomeness doesn't win out.

Correct.

Question: are there any people here that moderated on the old panthers.com forum.

Yeah. Me. And that experience is a big reason why I don't want that particular job again.

Brad Thomas was a mod there too. Also a fella named Markimus Prime (great guy, posts on Pantherfanz now) along with another guy whose name escapes me. And Of course, our good buddy Meat was the Admin.

His was so small that it really wasnt a big thing.

That's what sh...Wait

I accept the position.

That's really not a statement you want to make in regard to any "interview process" in this forum

no homo, just brothers from another mother.

I call DP my adopted son on this forum. I'm honestly not sure what that makes you

the best candidates could be folks that are here often but rarely post. those of you that post 30 times a day (nothing wrong with that) have gotten into so many pissing matches that i have doubts in your ability to be an objective moderator.

i also think it would be wise to create "moderator" accounts. make the process of moderating anonymous and let zod determine if moderators are doing their job effectively and objectively.

that's my two pennies.

That's how they did it on the official Panthers forum.

If you want to become a mod you gotta realize that your not just chatting with an avatar your chatting with an actual person behind a computer screen. People tend to forget that sometimes IMO.

Sound advice.
