for a team installing a new O and D w/ a rookie QB....it will probably give us no clue about what type team Carolina will be after their bye week to finish the year.

This isn't a "normal" season. This team needs a confidence booster, just like the year Jake took over in relief of Rodney Peete and led them to the Super Bowl, and then the year that Jake came back from surgery, and the San Diego Chargers comeback victory sparked that team to a 12-4 record before Jake imploded against the Cardinals in the first playoff game.

I could care less about rules pertaining to "what's normal".

This team needs a spark. Week 1 is important to "this team". Other teams, be d@mned.

Maybe it's me, but I expect us to start out terribly in the early part of the year. I think we'll get noticeably better in the final weeks as the coaches and players get things on track and get their system running. I don't know if it will translate into wins or not, but I expect us to improve throughout the year.

I'm fully prepared for us to start out with a bunch of losses though... Hopefully I'm wrong.

Hard for me to take under 4 for any NFL team. Gotta have a lot of bad magic and perfect storms coming together to win 3 or less.

someone wins under 4 most every season. often, there are multiple teams under 4. it doesn't take all that much bad magic, just a crappy team.
