if you look at SOS before week 1 every year.....and then look at what it actually was at the end of the regular season.

It never is the same. Shiznit always happens. There are always playoffs locks that turn into duds for one reason or another.

Yeah, but I don't see the NFC South being weaker than expected. I see Panthers going 0-6 or 1-5 in the NFC south alone.

I also don't see the NFC North being weaker than expected and can't see us being close against any of those teams.

Guys. Stop freaking out. Stop worrying about what each analyst says. I distinctly remember Deion saying we were going to the Super Bowl in 2009. We went 7-9. It works both ways. Who cares if everyone thinks we are gonna win 3-4 games.

We are rebuilding. Chances are we will have a mediocre season, but how many predicted where the Bucs finished last season? I'll tell you. Zero. Let the season play out. We aren't in the position the Lions were in for so many seasons, we are not perennial cellar dwellers. We could win 2, we could win 9. I know it's fun to talk about but no one knows. Let's have faith in our coaches and our team leaders.

I think we'll get noticeably better in the final weeks as the coaches and players get things on track and get their system running. I don't know if it will translate into wins or not, but I expect us to improve throughout the year.

I'm fully prepared for us to start out with a bunch of losses though... Hopefully I'm wrong.

The team before and after the bye overall should be very different looking teams though.

Probably has as much to do with the coaching staff.

And while I like the staff, were I a betting man and barring significant roster changes, I'd take the "under" right now.

It's a rebuilding year. I'm comfortable with that.

Me too given the current roster.With a youg qb and and the lack of a credible OL,DL, and cb we are a ways from being conpetetive in our division.If we were in the west we may be ale to pull it off.

But you're proving my point. I have a prediction, too. 6 wins. That doesn't mean either of us knows what will happen. This isn't tennis where you pretty much know whos gonna finish where each season. Teams disappoint and exceed expectations every season.

That's because the so called sports talking heads that way to many look to for answers, are both lazy and way to sentimental. Even if some of them appear to know what they are talking about.

Every year they also predict the Patriots to make the Super-Bowl despite the fact that they haven't made it close to the Super Bowl since 2007. Heck even I predicted to Jets were going to beat the Patriots in the first play-off game.

Anyway, there is no gaurantee these sport media talking heads will automatically have a lovefest with the Panthers even if they do manage to pull off a miracle and make it into the superbowl or win in a couple of years like the the lovefest they are having with the Saints and Packers. Especially if Cam is at the helm. Many of these sports media folks have shown that they are very sentimental and Cam will never fit the image of an All American QB in some of their minds...JMO.

its just interesting that he thinks they will surprise people. I respect his opinion for the most part. He is one of the few I actually do enjoy listening to. That aside, I don't see four wins on this schedule and the segment was one touting the NFC South as the only div. to have 3 teams with double-digit wins last season. We could just be the recipient of some nonchalant gladhanding in effort to keep with the "tough division" theme of the segment.

In any case I had no idea such a positive statement in the midst of what seems to be a terrible time for the team right now would initiate so many emotional reactions.
