What is really our problem?

pretty much everyone on the team but our kickers deserve some element of blame for poor play this preseason...

give them time, they just got in the system.

if only we had a quarterback who knew the system, he could run the offense while the others got on board and while our young QBs figured it out. Why didn't we pick someone like that up??

PeterGriffon is clearly someone who focuses all attention on what's easiest. It's easy to blame a Quarterback. Everyone sees the QB. It takes much more intelligence to focus on the trenches, where all battles are won.

Tom Brady and Peyton Manning would be crap if their offensive lines were constantly getting pushed back into their faces every pass, and their receivers couldn't get any separation.

This. When do the Colts usually lose? When Peyton's O-Line has a bad day and he gets rushed. Watching Brady is a thing of beauty. He trusts his O-Line SO much he barely flenches in the pocket. He drops back. Stands there, stands so more, stands some more, then passes. It's incredible. Jimmy had NONE of that last year and Cam looks like he's not getting much protection so far this year.

I believe a lot of people are under estimating how complex the new offense is. Both Gross and Kalih have been on record saying it's very complex, and admitting that they are struggling picking it all up. These are two of our smartest players on the team. If they are struggling, imagine how much more difficult it is for the qbs, who must also help calling out protections. The starting oline hasn't even practiced together.

You guys are expecting miracles...without being the least bit realistic.

There is going to be growing pains. Both offensive, and defensive.

Stop blaming the players (saying they are no good, etc), and have a lil patience.

Agreed, Hurney, Rivera and staff did not take the easy road but rather drafted for need with the picks they had, resigned key players long term and will roll with Cam behind center for good or bad starting Game 1 vs the Cardinals. They could have gone another route and done what it took to get a Billy Volek out of San Diego but are putting their faith in Cam and the future. So while Cam learns I believe this staff will put the talent we have in the best position to succeed on Sundays. We can play defense, we can run the ball and we have a huge upgrade at tight end. We have some holes on both sides of the ball but grooming what we have and building through the draft is the recipe we're using.

Hate to use Detroit as an example but now that Matt Millen has hit the pavement they are building a solid team in Motown. Pray to the football Gods Martey Hurney hits the lottery in the next 2 NFL drafts.

TheOracle is clearly someone who focuses all attention on what's easiest. Why dont you read the OP before calling me out. Nothing is blaming the QBs..IN FACT, I am saying Cam and Clausen could look good some where else. Please read before typing.

This? Did you read the OP? You are agreeing with someone stating I am blaming the QB. Obviously neither of you read the OP.

our biggest problem is that we have very few fans that understand how to manage their expectations of the franchise.

rookie QB

rookie HC

rookie Coordinators

coming off 2-14

key injuries everywhere

roster weighted in playmakers, not role players or Line

what do we really expect from these guys at this point?
