Stop it with the oversized DT talk....

I expect someone like Jamaal Williams to be signed, why?

Because we need a big space eating DT in the middle of the line.

Accidental pie, but I agree we need a big guy to at least rotate with Fua at the nose.

Fua was getting pushed around big time against Cinci. Maybe a lot of it is technique, but he also may just need a year in the weight room.

We go into the season as we are, and I think we get torched.

Why is it so hard for you to understand my posts? Just because they signed someone at the position of huge need does not mean they are good quality. We have needed starters at DT, WR, and CB. That's my whole point. Before last offseason, we didn't sign anyone who could start at WR. For the last few years before this year we haven't signed anyone who could start at DT. Now we haven't signed anyone who can start at CB. Yes they have signed DEPTH players at those positions, but not starters when we really needed them.

I do understand your posts. The problem, for me anyway, is that you are complaining that we sign "DEPTH players". To which I say that if you bring in players that wind up making your team, you are doing ok. You cannot add Quality players just because you want to. It just is not that easy.

The Panthers have tried to address these issues. Just not to your satisfaction. It is part of the process. It is called rebuiling. Which has been going on around here for the last 2 years where the Panthers were not going to spend money on Quality players. And unfortunately, we are probably not going to add any this year. Barring any unforseen trade.

We resigned our core talent. Not sure where the money comes from for us to sign any Quality players at this point. So I guess I do not understand your post. Because I do not understand how you plan to fix your bitch.

OH, and GOOOO PANTHERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I get what your saying.. you can't magically sign a probowl DT and chances are our DTs will be sufficient, however it takes time for them to grow into an NFL caliber DT..

You think a vet dt will help us to win a game this year?

Get the rooks all the experience for next year.

Without a doubt; they'll help win games by getting the D off the field on 3rd downs, not allow teams to be multidimensional and by not allowing opponents to continue to dominate the line of scrimmage- where games are won and lost.

I think the general assumption is that weight compensates for a lack of talent.

No talent in FA? Sign the biggest guy there is. At least that's what people seem to think.

I like the idea of letting the rookies play and learn, but if they are as bad as they were last week, I just don't think that's something you can tolerate. Difference between a weakness and an absolute hole.
