You can call posts or ideas wrong, dumb or silly under these rules. You just can't attack the person posting them.

oh, so you can call posts dumb, but you can't take it to its logical conclusion? if they were serious about this, it would also be infraction-worthy to call a "post or idea" dumb. i would also suggest we ban the eye-rolling smiley as it is a form of derision and it upsets me. oh, we can't do that? it's taken as the pinnacle of maturity because mr scot does it all the fuging time? ok then.

oh and i can't wait to see how quickly "these rules" are forgotten once some dumbass makes a thread arguing that beason isn't an elite linebacker, or once saintj posts.

So trust me when I say that I've analyzed the current rule and concluded that in effect it is an effort to make the board friendlier where we can minimize distracting flame wars, but what will exponentially minimize these pissing matches on here more than anything else is that people stop baiting other posters with passive aggressiveness as well.

it's currently going on in a thread about backing Newton, but it'll never be moderated and thus this rule will have no true sense of accomplishment.. it's only targeting what would appear to be the symptom rather than the problem. typical in politics and medicine, as well as message boards I guess..

I go to a top tier technical school in this country. People bait each other already a lot and it's just going to make it more effective if we just put this one clear rule ahead. That means we don't have people going in and saying "don't you have a grasp of reading comprehension? read what i said dot dot dot" just so the other poster gets offended and starts spewing bile. It's not me complaining, I have no problems with restraint. You guys want to make this forum less hostile? I'm going to show you that I can help. This is how I help.:)

And I can't speak for anyone else, but i can act chameleonic on this board. want to talk Xs and Os? I can do that. Want to discuss the progression of players? I can do that too. Want to link to quality sources? I've got 3 I'm posting. Want to get into a pissing contest with me? I can do that, and then make you log off and look in the mirror and try to reassure yourself. Want to make this forum a better place and friendlier? I can help you. But from now on, it's up to you, the poster that's interacting with me. You make the first move. You pick the game. Yeah, I don't see a huge difference between telling someone their thoughts and opinions are one of an idiot or just telling the person he's an idiot outright.

no see, ignorance is just as good as knowledge, therefore we should nurture and protect stupid people
