there are times where pointing out something has been discussed already can be useful to the OP so that they can find that threat, especially with Search not always being on. It allows them to look things up and add to that discussion. Now, saying "this poo's old, go fug yourself" is obviously not helpful, and many of us are guilty of smartassitude about that sometimes, but sometimes saying "This topic was discussed earlier in the week" is actually helpful IMO.

this "collective football knowledge declining" thing that some 8 year tenured posters keep talking about is a myth. Football knowledge hasn't gone anywhere because all of 7 posters who used to be popular on here don't post anymore, it's just gotten more volatile here because people on here piss other people off so much they'll never quote them in agreement or give them any props whatsoever again..

kinda true, but there is room for just giving props to people we disagree with if you (and by this I mean forum-goers, not you personally) don't take disagreement personally.. I don't agree with Teeray most of the time but I give him props. Hell, when I first noticed his posts last season I didn't agree with TRD either but I still gave him props and still do. I do think there are a few posters here who have been insulted by certain other posters so much, or trolled or whatever, that they are now a bit more antagonistic themselves in their responses, or they just don't post much at all.

I personally feel the quality of posts here have gone down hill. Whether that is based on football knowledge or not, I don't know, but the personal attacks haven't helped and I'm glad Zod is doing this. I'm just looking forward to the season getting going.

i don't ever remember PMing a mod because 85% of the board hated me and p55 was writing backhanded insults at me and mintal was telling me to "get off this board because we're sick of you" when i was criticizing Delhomme during the entire 2009 offseason, and a lot of that critique was rooted in reasoning

Well at first TRD got mad and challenged people to meet in person when people insulted him, and then he tried doing the same thing back to people which got him nowhere, and now he's trying to go to the admins so he doesn't get attacked.

so basically he's now getting carte blanche to bait people in threads and get them banned when they respond accordingly.

There are just 1 or 2 posters on here that seem intent on just being disruptive. That is what is hard to stomach, and I don't understand why it is allowed to continue. Consider a classroom or a business meeting. Do you allow 1 person to disrupt at the expense of the rest of the group, especially when that person is only trying to draw attention to themselves? Sure, the huddle is a far cry from a classroom or meeting, but the analogy still holds.

On the other hand, sometimes the most bizzare and insulting posts are fun to read, and it's always good to hear different opinions.

They asked me to report it, I do. I'd like the board to be better and if people can't control their emotions about Cam enough to have rational discussions, they shouldn't be on here.

you blatantly tried to bait me a week ago, the problem is comparatively to me you're terrible at it. See, your problem isn't that your perceived rationalism is being oppressed, because if you ask 100 people what they think of their opinion, 100 people will tell you they're right on. Your problem is that you want to be an alpha male on this forum, and you'll only complain when you get attacked, but you like to dish it out. You don't want to be challenged on here because when someone insults you, you can't try to knock their teeth out like you would probably try if someone insulted you like that at a sports bar. But what you don't understand is even though your opinions are based in fact, they can be rationally deconstructed.
