Could've had Dareus in the 1st this year then got Andrew Luck next year.

Unlikely that we would have been in a position to draft Luck next year. Even if we were not good this year, we might have won enough games to get the 4 or 5 pick. Got to draft based on where you are this year, not where you might be next year.

oh btw for all you "nick flair" fans that wanted him first overall you'd still be bitching about the lack of DT depth because he has yet to play even a preseason snap for Detroit and already has had minor surgery while his nfl career is in infancy, and even though at this point it's like week to week for his recovery there is speculation he might not even make it for season opener.

Dareus is on crutches...Fairley looks like what id thought hed be... Not one to have as an anchor.

It sucks to see us get gashed and see a lack of urgency on obtaining a DT to be afraid of...as we had a few seconds to offer up...but they became everette brown and Aramanti.

dareus was on crutches as a precaution after being kicked in the calf during practice. he played last night against jacksonville.

I like them both but the odds of two third round DTs becoming above-adequate starters are not great. I think the best likely case is we get a starter and a solid backup. Although we're owed a few happy surprises in the 3rd rd DT department. Hopefully I'll be happily surprised.
