You can reach an injury settlement, however that's usually when the injury isn't serious enough to prevent the player playing. If it's a genuine injury and surgery, he's probably better off going on IR.

he was a waste of a draft pick from the beginning. we already had projects in moore and clausen, why a 3rd rookie QB? i would have rather taken a DT or CB to develop, there would have been more of a chance they would have paid off down the road than tony pike. it was obvious he was heading nowhere with our team. he should be in indy or green bay or maybe san diego where he can ride the pine for 4 years.
