Could Otah make or break Cam's rookie season?

Um...people, it was like a year or 2 ago that Otah was considered among the top 5 RTs in the game. I mean, let's think about this. Sure, Otah has stayed injured. But he plays great when healthy. My one criticism is he doesn't seem to take care of himself in the offseason, which I think contributes to his injury-proneness. That is my one knock on him. Get him healthy, the right side improves as far as edge rushing and run blocking on sweeps, zones, and traps.

Still need a RG that isn't trying to go full retard every game, and still need Jordan "I Don't Remember The Snap Count" Gross to not be incompetent before this line is anywhere closes to 2008 form.

Saying Otah plays great when healthy is like saying a $100K sports car runs great when its not in the garage for repairs.

At some point, the inconsistency and the aggravation isn't worth the promise of performance that never materializes.

Having inconsistent guards is one thing, having inconsistent tackles is something else again.

If the Panthers don't pick up someone from a cut list to upgrade what we have, which is nothing, from a backup perspective, then they are beyond stupid.

I'm not saying to cut Otah, I'm asking what you would do, right now, or what would you have done prior ot the regular season given his history?

Well hindsights 20/20.. Right now I would watch the waiver wire very closely.

We spent our wad on retaining our own players. Only recent we did we create some cap room by resigning Kalil.

We have more pressing issues right now anyway. Right now our biggest holes are at CB, # 2 W.R., D.T. possibly D.E depending on how Hardy pans out.

At least at right tackle we know we will be fine once Otah comes back. Nobody is impying he's done for the year or anything.

At CB,DT,AND 2 W.R. even with everybody healthy we still have glaring holes.

What about Thomas Davis, 23 games in the last 3 years?

I guess you just decided to forget about the 4 previous seasons....

Otah, if he misses 2 more games he will have missed half his career as a Panther.
