Panthers' cuts

From the link:

The Panthers got down to their 80-player roster limit today by cutting ties with second-year quarterback Tony Pike and offensive lineman Duke Robinson while putting projected starting guard Geoff Schwartz on the injured reserve list.

The Panthers put Pike on the waived injured list and released Robinson in an injured related move while adding Schwartz to the injured reserve list was an indication that his hip injury is more serious than first thought.

Additionally, the Panthers put tight end Gary Barnidge on the injured reserve list as a result of a broken ankle suffered last week. As expected, they added receiver David Gettis and center Zack Williams to the injured list that already included defensive tackle Ron Edwards and cornerback Cletis Gordon.

The team decided not to sign long snapper Mike Massey, who was brought in for a look last week.

The Panthers will have to reach their 53-player roster Saturday.

We need to cut Steve Smith too, he only has one catch in the preseason and the preseason is what matters.

The Lions went 4-0 in the Preseason, then when 0-16 for the year, so clearly, the Preseason doesn't mean that much in a "normal", year, but of course this isn't. Either way, Gamble has sucked for several years now, and that's what really matters. Steve Smith, on the other hand, has had no one capable of getting him the ball for three years.

Wow! Comparing this year's Lions to that of two years ago really just kills any credibility you might have had. What a ridiculous comparison.

This is actually getting amusing.
