How long should Cam play on Thursday?

If Rivera leaves Cam in beyond the first quarter, then I'll be shocked. Our starting o-line can't pass block, and our backups are somehow worse. Pitt's defense is usually SB caliber, and will be looking to welcome Cam to the NFL will big hits.

But this thread is about what we as fans would decide. 100% sit Cam after the 1st quarter. He's not going to have some revelation after a few more plays, but he could certainly be injured. And for what? A little confidence building against second stringers? Yikes that's not worth it in any way.

As far as leaving the o-line in longer, I can't answer that question. To my untrained eyes, it looks like our C/RG/RT combination is simply getting physically overwhelmed. Extra snaps won't stop Kalil from getting pushed back into the pocket, and the same goes for whatever loser RG we trot out there. The problem imo is a lack of raw power, not so much confusion, or a lack of experience. So no, I would take the starting o-line out after the 1st quarter. The weight room might help more than anything (and roids) j/k.

Cam needs experience as much as anyone. He needs snaps, snaps and more snaps. Everyone is at risk to get injured, you can't worry about that. It's not like he's Brady or Manning and if he goes out, our offense goes from being top 5 to bottom 5. He needs as much experience as he can get. Let him play.
