Cam is ready

The FO didn't want to bring in anyone capable of beating out Cam.

They wanted Cam to be the guy from Day 1 and that's why DA hasn't gotten a chance.

Holding us hostage...

Im not surprised a Matt Moore "player fan" has faith in and wants Derek Anderson to start. Anderson should start based on what?

I have never had a problem with Cam coming in and using his legs to make plays, i guess he has been listening to the talking heads too much about him transitioning to a pocket passer. He needs to understand for himself that this whole year is a learning process for him and if taking off when nothing is there is gonna help us win he should do it, just be more careful about it in the NFL. He will become a pure Qb over time, not having off season OTAs kinda already screwed that up for this year so right now he should just do what he does best or play the way he knows will get it done.

The worst part about the entire situation is regardless of the decision it feels as if we are damned if we do, damned if we don't.

I feel sorry for anyone who is just realizing this as if this year was going to be a playoff run..

Not saying he should, I said they never gave him a chance.

He's probably better than both Cam and Jim right now.

Yeah.... JR really didn't give a poo about last year, screw the past.

What Anderson might do for us right now is irrelevant to the furure, which is all we have.

JR and this coaching staff knows and the fans should know that what Cam has the potential to do in the future is what's important. So DA riding the pine is the correct path.

I'm not really interested in us winning this year.. no sense in fabricating high expectations..

I want to see the young players grow and the team to gel in some form/fashion over the course of the season..

I also expect our running game to start slow as hell...

On the contrary:

Cam thus far is 21/52 275yds.

Clausen last year was 21/42 231yds.

Adding preseason game 1 this year to give Clausen as many attempts he is 25/49 300yds with a passing TD.

Cam hasn't thrown a pick thus far (compared to Clausen's 3 (2 last preseason)), and he definitely takes more shots downfield. My issue is with his accuracy. Both have played w/o Otah behind suspect olines.

Clausen also was in Davidson's system with 3 rookie WR (one of who was a college qb), Dwayne Jarrett, Kinger, and Rosario.

Do I think Cam has a higher ceiling than Jimmy? You bet. However, he hasnt done enough imo to take the starting job. The QB needs to be accurate and let's be honest: he hasn't been. He has had 23 more attempts than jimmy this preseason and has only made 6 more completions. He has had no picks and 102 more passing yards which is great but he's also got a Hell of a lot more incompletions.

The worst part about the entire situation is regardless of the decision it feels as if we are damned if we do, damned if we don't.

You can't chalk all incompletions up to the quarterback though. Gotta take other things into account, like receivers dropping passes, receivers not running correct routes, getting hit as you throw due to pressure, etc.

The front office needs to loosen the chains around the ankles of our QB's. If Cam is declared the starter and doesn't do anything by week 5 PASSING the ball, my worries about him will increase. He can run, hell we all knew that when he was drafted, but that arm is worrying the hell outta me.
