I have no clue as to why people are bitching about Cam

do you even realize you probably can't even tell if his fundamentals are wrong because there's a lot of them to master, and you just took 3 or 4 obvious faults that any idiot fan could see that rookies can struggle with early on in their career and tried to look smart

You mean you probably can't tell if all of them are off? Because you can certainly tell his footwork is terrible and he throws from his back foot and he doesn't follow through, etc, etc

So what exactly are you saying? That he may be off on more than those?

guys HPPantherzfan is a genius because he could pinpoint that Cam threw off his back foot

he learned it was a bad move because Jamie Dukes said it one time on NFL total access and he just decided that was the one thing he was going to remember long term from that day.

All i took from this was bitch bitch bitch bitch bitch bitch and wahhh wahhh

It's his third preseason game in the nfl after only being with the team for little over a month.

So in other words you can't stand to read some constructive critizism of Cam? I think if you read just about any other website from espn to whatever else you will see they are saying the same thing.

Take it for whinnig when you should be taking it for truth!

BTW, third preseason games are dress rehersals...Tip for you though, it was Daltons third preseason game too...where was he drafted?

Well then you're going to never be happy with Cam Newton because he's never going to throw like Peyton Manning, but he was never drafted to do that in the first place.

Of course Cam isn't your typical pocket passer, but he was indeed drafted to be like Peyton Manning in a lot of ways. He is suppose to be our franchise QB for the next decade. He was drafted to be the face of our franchise, to lead the charge for the new look Panthers heading into the future, and to be one of the next great players in the NFL. He was drafted with the thought that he would be potentially just as impactful as Manning has been, but with a different style.

It's unfair to expect Newton to be incredible and jaw dropping at this point, but I think most of the criticism on him is fair so far. He is the #1 overall pick after all.

he was running he looked liked he had the advantage over any defender trying to take him on..funny we were told there was no way he could get away with that in the pro's..the big boys would crush him..well guess what he is a big boy himself.

LOL

Why don't you point out something he does right in the passing game then...genius?

he also remembers and categorizes in his massive mind everything everyone has ever posted on this forum so hes never wrong and everyone is unoriginal to him

Sorry guys. I'm sorry I expect the first round #1 pick of the NFL draft to be able to pass the damn football if he is a QB

Guess I'm wrong for that

Sorry

Im totally with that. I feel like not throwing the ball into the dirt constantly or 10 feet over the WR head is a minimal request.

It was the Bengals for god sakes and he was brought down by one defender that barely touched him with his helmet on the second run

there are a lot of motions that he's trying to grasp that involve numerous movements regarding throwing motion, follow through, balance in the pocket, setting his feet, etc. He's probably having to remember to do some of those things every single time he drops back. Once he gets them down pat to the point where it's muscle memory, all he has to concentrate on is making his reads and he will progress.

but i understand it's harder for people to think about this then just look at 6 for 19 and get the torch and pitchfork out of the closet and consider raising hell

So again, tell us what he gets right?

Post some postive numbers for us...give us something besides your unbiased "opinion" on why I'm wrong...I can tell you the numbers won't agree with you but what the hell do I now...numbers mean nothing

I think we've seen some good things passing the football from Cam. I thought that TD pass to Smitty that went out of the back of the end zone is an example, well placed ball just a hair out of bounds. Building blocks people.

His 6-19 stat line is bad and there were probably 10 throws in there that were wild and all over the place mostly under pressure or when he looked like he wasn't understanding what he was seeing. But 9 of them were plays where he made the right read, stuck to his form, and made a throw that could be played by the receiver. He completed 6, had one bounce off of Olsen's hands, one went out of the back on the end zone to smitty that was damn close, and the other was just a good play by the defender.

The more live action Cam sees, the better he will understand the offense. The most impressive thing about Cam is the fact that even though you know he probably feels completely lost out there at times, he stays poised. Yesterday was about the first time I ever seen him really start to get rattled, and even still he was able to collect himself. I think he gets a lot better people, it's just gonna take some snaps.

Here's your stat of the night I just researched: Cam Newton rushed for 49 yards against the Bengals. Granted, it was a preseason game, but the single highest rushing performance by a Panthers QB in team history was by Randy Fasani on October 20, 2002 against the Falcons. Incredibly, he rushed for 58 yards that game. Second place? In another game against the Falcons a year prior, Chris Weinke rushed for 38 yards. So, if Cam had done that during the regular season, it would have been the second-highest amount of rushing yards a Panther quarterback had put up in the 17-year history of the franchise.

Cam potential is obvious not only he is an outstanding scrambler but he is also very good against blitzing defenses.

His accuracy is a concern but i am very confident with him.

I like this kid, btw Cam don't be so shy, be our forest gump, run run run.

Your WRs are not open? Run then.
