Look, it is no secret that our whole team is going through growing pains. It is a young team, with a rookie QB, new head coach, etc etc. Our preseason games have been just like Cam Newton; flashes of greatness, then lows filled with mistakes and poor play.

And, its preseason. Glorified practice. Dress rehearsal. You cannot expect such a young team to come out and kill it during preseason. Coaches have a plan, they are evaluating. Trying different schemes, testing skill, trying to figure out what they actually have. Signings can still be done, and players will learn.

Some of you forget how many factors relate to a successful football team. Team chemistry, the right players at the right positions, substitutions, solid game plans. It all adds up a successful football team. Try not to expect the Panthers, as young and new as they are, to be instantly effective in all phases of the game. Let Rivera do his job, let the coaches give instruction, and let the players watch tape, learn, practice, and heal injuries. Eventually it will come together just give it time.

Ya you can judge but you can't make final judgements that are worthy of running to the internetz and proclaiming he isn't living up too his potential due to some games that don't even count. Lets let him get some work in the nfl on his resume first.

I'm not sure you understand how a fan message board operates. If you're a big fan of a player on the team the site is for, then by definition, you can't be a troll. If you don't like Cam, that doesn't *necessarily* make you a troll either, but it's possible unlike those that like him and want him to succeed.

Sam Mills Fan, this is a fanbase that was told for 15 years it was OK to hate QBs like Cam Newton and or to place no value in them. Just as it will take Cameron some time to learn the QB position, its gonna take some time for some in our fanbase to get beyond seeing QBs like him as the "enemy" or even more so to identify with one. No one should be surprised by the quick judgement of Cameron or the glee some find in him struggling his rookie year.

With no OTAs and with a complex offensive scheme, Cam Newton is EXACTLY WHERE EVERYONE SAID HE WOULD BE. Flashes of greatness, especially with his legs, but a lot of hesitation/uncertainty when he drops back to pass simply because of the massive transition he's making from the Auburn offense to the Chud NFL offense.

I am right, right? Were people saying during the offseason that they thought Cam would tear things up with his arm during the preseason? I don't remember anyone saying. People kept predicting he was going to struggle early on and to be patient for the payoff down the road. So why is everyone in suicide mode today re: Cam? If you want to be in suicide mode for the team overall, fine, I understand that. But the freaking out over Cam in particular when everyone, including his biggest supporters like me, clearly said over and over he was going to struggle early on is something I don't get.

Everyone is in suicide mode because he was a number 1 draft pick...we bet the bank on him and so far...besides two runs...he has looked the worse of the rookie QB class. Now the allegations that he was paid to go to Aurburn is hanging over his head again due to "new" sources confirming that the NCAA is setting up the SEC to win the NC every year is hanging over his head and I'm sure this will be a distraction to him at some point when he needs to be totally focused.

For a number 1 overall draft pick he isn't playing anywhere near where he should be...shortened offseason or not
