I personally don't own 09 but played a ton of the online at my friends place and it was fun along with the normal game. But for some reason I'm way better at 07, than any other recent hockey game in the modern era (*00's on), and I do own 00-04 (NHL's/2k) and NHL 06/08 as well. I didn't like 08 because for some reason and this may just be my case when I would completely out hit/shoot/chance/face off the other person I would still somehow lose and it made no sense to me. I'm talking doubling at least in all those categories and I would still lose. 2k had some good hockey, in my opinion, from like 04-06 in comparison to NHL franchise.

The reason 94 is superior is because of the simplicity that the average fan can pick it up and play and be competitive while from 07 on you have to use the thumb sticks and all the buttons. And in the modern era 98ish on, the complex controllers weeds out alot of the non-technological generation

I agree 94 is great and still one of the best sports games ever made. I had a similar problem on 08 as well, the computer played catch up really well in the late 2nd early 3rd. the 2k series used to be awesome. I'm not sure what exactly happened to it recently. I don't have that AI catch up problem on 09 though, which made me happy.

My only hope for Madden this year is that the piece of shee-ite "All Play" isn't the only option available on the Wii. I loved the Wii versions of '07 and '08, but "All Play" just completely removes all fun from the game.

And I would say I hope for a Wii version of NHL...but that would scare me.

That would be pretty cool as long as you don't play as Dan Morgan. You might be hospitalized.

VERY true.. If they could perfect that though, how smooth would that be..?? They're only a few years away from making it look real to begin with.

I haven't tried it but you can change the controls to old school settings in NHL 09.

I'm fine with the normal settings. If it means old school like 94 days where there is maybe 3 buttons you use and a thumb stick, that's amazing and I may go pick up 09 after the season is over but if its just back to using all the buttons on the controller than nevermind but I'll still probably pick it up in the offseason.
