Cam is not ready

If Cam is not going to be the QB then who???

Clausen?, No way! He does not look any better in a game then last year. He looks to run on every play when his check down route is covered. Third and long with Clausen always ends up with a two yard scramble or four yard dump off.

Anderson? Maybe, but it appears the coaching will not put him in the game unless someone gets hurts. He is only here to mentor.

With enough playing time Cam will get it. There will be growing pains and I think the coaching staff will bring him alone slowly. Cam will win us some games and improve throughout the season.

Minus the linebackers and safeties, it is the entire defense that is not ready.

Does anyone in a Panthers jersey look ready other than Olsen, Smitty, and Dwill?

Mare, Thomas Davis, and I will even add Shockey. Shockey I think has been solid. Not as good as Olsen but he isn't expected to be that.

but that is it.

Am I the ONLY one who realizes that about 80% of the bad throws Cam had last night came when linemen gave 6 yards of room, getting pushed into Cam's lap where he didn't have time to make his reads and step into a good throw? Nor could he side-step the pressure, since all 5 linemen decided to not work at all? Am I seriously the only fuging one?

His "inaccuracy" is ONLY when throwing off his back foot which ONLY happened when he had NO pocket to work with. Cam's numbers, again, do not tell the story. Give the man a consistent run game behind a competent OL like Dalton had the entire fuging time he was in, and Cam has similar success, and we win.

I am still not sold that we're necessarily trying to win these preseason games, because play-calling seemed too "out-there." We had some plays that were very successful. Never came back to them and never tried similar plays. It's like we're still going through the playbook and running every play once a game.

Cam's STRENGTH was supposed to be when the pocket broke down, and he had to make something happen. I was not a fan of this pick from the beginning. There will be several future 5+ year starting QBs from this draft (at least two) and none of them is Cam Newton. Does are team suck? yes. Does cam belong in college? yes.

How does The Golden Calf of Bristol get so much bad press for being a freak athlete from an option offense, and Cam goes number #1 I'll never know. Am I a "cam hater." No, I hope he turns into John Elway. Do I think it will happen. No, not even close. I bet $1,000 dollars that the stadium will be chanting for pickles at least once during this season. That's as much about the fans as Cam, but either way it's true.

Just curious, if I were to dig up your old posts were you defending Clausen the same way last year? It seems like up until Cam got here the offensive line and running backs were stellar and Clausen was the only real problem.

Did you not watch him on 3rd down on the Cincy 16? No one was open....play broke down and he ran in and over the D for a TD. He also broke another big run in that game.

Cam could of done THAT on several plays....but he knows he can do that well and so does Chud. Practice ain't about just going to what you do well.

Why does Cam belong in college. He went undefeated out of the SEC, won the Hesiman and NC (with a weak cast around him). Nothing to be gained by staying at Auburn. Auburns role is not to prep him for the NFL....it is to have him dominate college FB (been there and done that).

No, not stellar, but good enough to make more happen than Clausen did. Even with a year under his belt, Cam looks to do more when the OL breaks down and stays in w/ slight pressure.

Because the media choose him to be a pinyata last year like they are with Cam this year...But Cam prevail over the negative hot noise and The Golden Calf of Bristol didn't.

Seriously what the heck did Cam do to u folks why u hate on him so much?

Do you feel The Golden Calf of Bristol is the next John Elway?

Also, Cam will never be compared to the best of the QBs even if he was better and that's for obvious reasons.

Actually, no. Clausen just sucked last year. The OL wasn't stellar last year, but they weren't as consistently shitty as they are right now. Coming into the season, we were all assuming the OL was completely healthy, including Otah. Now we're playing musical chairs with our OL and they suck (just like last year). Our running backs are good, they just had NO holes to get through this entire preseason. The few times they did open up running lanes, Williams has broken off 10+ yard runs.

Cam is far from perfect. He does have things to work on. But, he didn't play terrible. You have to consider the circumstances. We don't have reliable WRs outside of Smith and the TEs and we had no run game to speak of (all of Williams' yards on his 5 carries came from the big run early on in the game). Once again, give Cam the same OL play that Dalton had, and he completes at least 50% of his throws, if not more.
