the offense isnt going to be fixed overnight, even if they drafted Luck they would've struggled, people seem to think Newton is the savior or will be like Vick and put the team on his back and take them to the playoffs in a year. Newton isnt as fast as Vick was, so dont expect that. Give Newton time, but then again, i have already heard some people wanting Luck.

my issue is the defense, 60 yards to Benson in a half, not good.

Nope, this is an overhauled offense in so much as the things people were complaining about last year--Clausen and Davidson/Fox. We have Newton, who turns out to be human after all, and Chud's offense is sputtering out of the gate.

We knew the defensive line was going to blow when we passed up on the best top crop of D-tackles in years and this is the medicine we are going to have to take. The offense was going to compensate for the lack of corner and defensive tackle talent. As it looks now, we are going to have to be in shoot outs to even have a chance of winning games. It doesn't look promising based off our offensive showings thus far.

god Derek Anderson has to be better than this... right?

I don't really care if he is or not. I'd still rather start him.

Newton isn't ready, and neither is the rest of the offense. Throwing him out there under these conditions is asking for a disaster. All you'll wind up doing is reinforcing those bad habits he's already showing.

Don't care to start Clausen either at this point. This season is a transitional one, and of the three, Anderson is the most expendable.

BTW, is any of the missed balls the fault of the receivers?

dear lordy some of you guys are hypocrites.

Cam looked like crap tonight, no way around it. when he set his feet and threw the ball right he threw some nice passes. too bad 2/3 of his passes were all arm and him just winging the ball trying to get it somewhere quickly.

yeah the O-line didn't play all that great, so what? he had plenty of opportunities to get the ball out quickly, but held on to it too long and got into trouble. he's relying too much on his arm strength alone and his fundamentals are being thrown out the window. dude just needs to get his feet right and he can be a good QB.

"Cam is inaccurate" has been the media's talking point and they are sticking with it. Funny that none of the other QBs are being called inaccurate when their stats are low..Nope their low stats are blamed on the O-line.

Every missed ball is automatically Cam's fault, regardless...Yep, sounds fair to me.

What is your obsession with "the other QBs"? Yet just today, stories were flying all over about how poor Ponder has been and how he's not even going to make the #2 on the Vikings.

Though I put no stock in it as some kind of long term projection, Cam is terribly inaccurate. Maybe the reason 'the media' (who?) hasn't started harping on the other Qbs is that... they aren't as inaccurate? I mean, cam does have the lowest completion percentage, tho obviously there is way more to accuracy than that.

Isn't it funny that no matter how bad, good,or decent a QB plays, if the media has him as their favorite, his mistakes are minimized and if they pegged him to be bad or a "project," every mistake is his fault.

uhm, no, his decision making isn't bad (though he needs to take what the defense is giving him), my point was that his accuracy is bad, whereas his decision making isn't, hence lack of interceptions. interceptions and sacks especially have virtually nothing to do with accuracy.

it's funny that you think cam is getting treated terribly... when I already showed that other quarterbacks are getting bad press in a thread with you earlier, and today a story ran about how terrible Ponder is doing. how many of these rookies are you following? how much are you actually paying attention to the media? and why does the media even MATTER?
