Cam is not ready

Call me when Cam plays defense and plays on the offensive line.

Doesn't matter, he isn't to blame for all of it, but you guys slobbering right now realize what his passing stats are and how he looked against that BENGALS

To be honest, even if the play calls were terrible you still have to make the plays and he flat out didn't...did you see the balls in the dirst (again) or over thrown?

Good thing Olsen is 7 foot tall.

Cam need a little but of Jimmy Clausen in him.

After watching Clausen all of last year there is a natural disdain in this fan base for checking down but Cam is the extreme opposite. It seems like he is trying to break off 30+ yard gains on every pass.

He is going to learn that he has to take what the defense gives him.

But it is preseason I am not going to claim defeat of victory until the end of the season once we see if he is progressing or if he is still having games like tonight.

Can I change my predictions for a successful season for Cam.

:leaving:

U are so contrdicting urself.

So Cam should sit because it's not so much that he's bad but the O-line is bad. So until the O-lin gets better then Cam should play...Got it.

Actually given time I expect this o-line to solidify. It tends to start slow and improve with time. I think the same thing will happen this year, and by then, Cam will have more practice time under his belt and will be more capable of carrying the load a bit and making defenses pay when they stack the box to stop our run game.

edit: also our offense is NOT rookie QB friendly supposedly, this was reported near the draft and it was dismissed, but what if it's true?

plus I generally prefer to sit first rounders for a few games... but eh, I admit I could be wrong and I hope he can really learn on the job.

Exactly like Teeray said. Cam needs to take what the D gives him.

If nothing is open, his ass needs to run. If he has someone open underneath, while the top is covered, he needs to dump it off.

He's just trying way too hard to play like something he's not.. yet

I wonder if he's being coached into that, or if it's a mental thing.

I really hope Cam becomes the star we all are wanting. I just don't see it right now. If he is smart he will after the offseason, go to the panthers facilities and work on his mechanics and fundamentals of the game. I think he is smart enough to learn the offense properly and is has a good work ethic.

These threads are gonna make excellent bump material later in the season. :D

Oh like that "Vince Young will be a starter this year" thread where you called everyone a racist for saying VY wasn't wanted by ANY GM in the league as a starter?

Gotcha.

A bit over reacting much..

No, he is amazingly inaccurate. That's a fact. He is not accurate. No way around it.

    • Hope Koch recovers (he’s stated numerous times he doesn’t like to be called “koochie”) soon. But he does not instill confidence in the crease. I don’t have any confidence in any of our goalies, healthy or not. Andersen when available gives us the best chance to win but he’s never available.    Team has to explore trade options soon.
    • Respectfully, I completely disagree. Last year we were:  32nd in Sacks. 32nd in Turnovers.  32nd in Rushing TDs allowed  29th in Scoring.  We were absolutely atrocious on defense last year and that was with a full stable of weapons in Derek Brown, Frankie Luvu and Brian Burns that played all 17 games.  Using yards per game as a metric to guage our success lacks the context that because our offense was so inept teams were not driving the length of the field, they were starting at their 40-50 yard line.  This year, our Defense ranks:  31st in Sacks. Tied for 19th in Turnovers  31st in Rushing TDs allowed 32nd in Scoring  His defense fails to get pressure, fails to turn the ball over and fails to stop the run. Three things you absolutely have to do to be successful in the NFL.  Denver meanwhile has not missed a beat without him.  If another team wants to hire him as a HC and the Panthers get two 3rds for it I'll wish him the best and pack his bags myself.
