Cam is not ready

As a fan of this team Im impressed we have a QB who isnt an INT machine for a change, he just has to become more consistent with his accuracy and build that chemistry with his guys. I was impressed with his runs tonight as well. He's definitely a guy that has to be accounted for as a scrambler.

Buy me a Cam jersey and I'll never disagree with you again.

Jesus Christ with the stupidity on here sometimes. Dalton could read war and peace behind the protection he was getting due to our inept run defense, left us completely off balance. If some of you mental midgets watch the game for what it is Cam made some outstanding throws and showed poise and good decision making when given the time. That Smith throw where smitty should have gotten his feet in, Outstanding. That throw to Olsen where he placed it high where the defender couldn't reach it, great. That one in third and long on our own goal line that was a dart but taken back, fantastic. Cam seemed to really step into his throws more today and when he does that watch out. Added the running and slicing through the D like he did at Auburn. How can you not be excited about Cam.

I don't think Cam is ready yet.

Not just due to what he has or hasn't shown on the field. With the play of our o-line, the lack of a decent #2 wideout, no running game, and frankly, questionable play calling, we could go winless with Cam at the helm. I think he is regressing due to overload of information and it may be time to take a step back and let him develop at a slower pace.

It probably won't make any difference anyway. Jimmy will get killed behind this o-line before the end of the half in Arizona, and Cam will need to play anyway.

So with Jimmy it's the O-line but with Cam, the problem is him...Okay, got it. And one really feels they haven't set the bar ridiculously to high for him?

at least wait until week 1 before ripping the play calling

Because they want perfection from Cam. I guess it's a lot easier since it's him.

i think Cam Newton IS ready, he didnt look bad today, he had some bad moments and some good ones, in other words, he looked like a rookie, but today he moved well and ran for a TD. the defense is what let me down today, they made Dalton look like a future rookie of the year.

the whole "nah man Cam bears like no responsibility it isn't a rookie's job to do anything but drool and hand the ball off, not his fault nobody else played well" is getting old.

it's not like I think we should toss Cam out the door, but I feel like he should sit on the bench for a bit until he can do a bit more, because this offense *is* going to need a QB to make more plays than we might expect a rookie to.

that being said, I don't think we have a better option, as Jimmy is bad in his own ways too, so it comes down to what's best for Cam in the long term.... Is that starting or sitting?

IMO it's sitting when your team isn't really in good shape to support the rookie.
