It was dealt with. We signed a free agent, and made a couple of draft picks. Unfortunately, our free agent is out for the year, so we have to make do. We had a lot of holes last year, and fixing all of them with a offseason that lasted a week or two is a nearly impossible task.

Somebody asked about the waiver wire. Yes, we'll get first dibs on players cut, but they have to have less than four seasons in the league under their belt. If they do, then they're free to sign with whichever team they wish. Don't know if that's been modified under the new CBA though. We'll keep that advantage until Week 3 or 4 when it's reset to how teams are doing record wise in the '11 season.

For those of you complaining about the pick, who exactly did you expect us to pick up? You don't exactly pick up probowlers from the waiver list.

My only complaint with the waiver selection is having to hear carowhina fans rationalize why this guy hasn't panned out.

He was stuck as a 3-4 DE because he has 3-4 DE size. He is tall with some bulk. The facts tell the story. He has played for 2 different teams in 3 years, started a good number of games last year without recording a sack, and has now been cut early into the cut cycle by a team without a plethora of DEs. At this point he is a reclamation project with some upside but is unlikely to help out in any meaningful way.
