I don't think people really understand why he hasn't done all that well so far... Supposedly he has all the tools to be a great player, but in both SF and SEA he was playing as a DE in a 3-4. I think he may excel as a 4-3 DT and I'm sure he will enjoy coming back home to play as well.

he obviously didnt fit at a 3-4 de, hopefully change of scenery, system and motivation will help him be effective. time will tell, i wont be too drastic

the fun thing about sports is....there are always guys who prove the general assumption on them wrong. You never know....

I mean look at Mike Williams in Seattle last year.....was garbage for 3 years, took 2 years off and then actually was a solid WR in 2010. Sport is about keepin the faith........

Actually am very optimistic about this signing.

If anybody can finally bring out this guy's potential, it's Rivera.

More importantly, he is much more suited to our scheme than he was SF or SEA's. This could end up being very good for us.

And if not, then it doesn't hurt to have a 6'5" 315 lb. guy on your roster when you're hurting for DT's..
