Rumor: Carolina want's Eagles corner

Can't see it, no matter the price. So that would give us Gamble and Samuel on the outside, with Butler or Captain as the nickel. What happens to Hogan? Do we just put him on the shelf before we have even seen him play a down?

Just doesn't make sense to me (so count on it happening).

They could move Butler to safety

Old thread. I think if we can get Samuel though for a year or two it would free us up to work on other needs, but he's definitely not the long term solution. If we don't plan on resigning Otah, I'd be fine with trading him. I think Connor also leaves after this season and I know they need LBs, but that would leave us with even more terrible LB play right now, so it would completely be looking to next season. I don't expect us getting him but I wouldn't mind trading Otah for something.

Regarding Samuel being available:

The report indicates the Eagles are looking for veteran defensive players in the front seven rather than draft picks.

Per PFT. If we still had Beason then I'm sure a Connor/Samuel swap would have been considered, but we need everything we've got on the front 7, which isn't saying much.

I'd still trade Connor... At this point, we're already playing LB by committee so it's not like it really matter who is back there other than James Anderson. Give T. Williams or Phillips those reps, there won't be much drop off, in fact, there may be some improvement.

That being said, I don't see that happening either because I think Connor may have played himself into value oblivion.
