Panthers Plan to Contact Eagles

4 years

I think we'd get 3-4 very good years, and depending on how he's used, we could get a couple additional years out of him, but probably not as our #1.

I feel we'd get enough years out of him that he'd be worth a second (and probably a player) in general, I just don't know if in our situation that works.

I would like to see us make a move for him simply cuz he fills a need and has been advertised as available.

I don't buy the fact that the Eagles are simply wanting 2 2nds or a 1st or nothing.

Anybody remember that when they first leaked that Mcnabb was available and they were seeking something stupid like like 2 first and a third.

They ended up accepting a 2nd and a potential thrid or 4th when it was all said and done.

I would gladly give up Connor and a 4th or as much as Connor and a 2013 third round pick.

Ability wise, he would be an excellent pick-up. His asking price is what's going to be the most absurd.

And hell-fuging-no on Hanson. Would much rather have Hayden if that's the case.

This team already has one undersized DB. No need for more.

Our DBs wouldn't look so bad against Henne if our front 4 actually put some pressure on him. Just sayin'

ding ding ding!

we have hit the nail on the head. Imagine we still had our superbowl front 4? Rucker, Buckner, Jenkins, and a hard-working Peppers!. Anderson, Beason, Davis behind them. It wouldnt matter if we had Gamble and 3 parapalegics behind them. that front 7 would have been DIRTY.

if this is a "short term solution," are you expecting us to take 5 years to rebuild or something?

he may not contribute next year but he's far more likely to contribute before a 2nd rounder next year does.

It's completely possible for us to be in the thick of things next year if we make the right moves and our offense develops as we hope it does.

Giving up a second round pick for a 30 year old CB (no matter how good) is a move that a team in position to 'win now' does. We aren't winning anything right now. That is a short-term solution. Im not willing to go into next year's draft without a high second round pick.

your 2nd round pick isn't going to provide a better short term or longer term impact than a player like Samuel. Odds are just against that.
