The guy is 30 years old, even though he brings us much needed help I dont like trading the 2nd PLUS connor. But it upgrades our DB's alot so its something to think about.

Sounds like Samuel may not be the CB we're contacting Philadelphia about...

Peter King is reporting CAR may have some interest in PHI CB Joselio Hanson. With NYG now on the market for corners, although they may sign Brian Williams today to offset the preseason losses of their top 3 CBs, CAR may have to consider a trade to get a serviceable CB for the season if the camp attendees dont appear to be starter grade material. King's logic largely revolves around the connection between Hanson and CAR new DC McDermott.

he's got enough years left at 30 that he could really shore up the defense, but I'm hesitant to go into next year with both our 2nd and our 3rd gone.

Still, picking him up would be a GIGANTIC boost if he can work well with our defensive coaches. he's a very good corner and while he takes risks, he's the kind of guy that can make a break on a ball and win you a game. He's virtually the anti-Gamble in that regard (no offense to Gamble intended). Considering how we struck out in the FA CB market, I think we should try very hard to make a deal for Asante...

however I don't think we can really trade Dan with the question marks about beason's injury... blah.
