most overrated player in NFL history

top dawg

I can not believe that a Carolina Huddle thread discussing the most overrated player ever in the NFL has not mentioned the one name that is the most overrated player in the history of the NFL!.......

Michael Vick. Said to be the revolution of the game and ended up being nothing more than a glorified average running back.

lol, come on, man. I'm no fan of Vick, but you have to admit that the dude was a BAMF with the ball in his hand... running

As far as current player, I have to go with Ray Lewis.

are you serious?

not only did he have pretty stellar production in 2008, but he is a one of a kind personality, the heart and soul of their defense, the team captain, and can diagnose a play better than anyone in the league.

i mean honestly i'd say right now it's peppers.

The only problem was he didn't play running back.

Remember when everyone was saying that Vick would finally become the kind of QB he was ment to be once he was in the WCO for a couple of years. You might not have to be a great QB to run the WCO but have to have at least a little talent at throwing the ball. At least more talent than throwing a long distance.

I completely agree. He was not a complete QB. But I really don't think he was revered for his "complete QB" abilities. He was revered for his remarkable ability to just make something happen, which he definitely was efficient at doing. He did single-handedly take the Falcons to the NFCCG. The guy was uber-talented and showcased it. He just so far has sucked as a human being.

I think there is an argument for his ability "just make something happen" hurting his team more than it helped...but you do make a good point about how he was never expected to be the typical QB and how he did lead the Falcons to the NFCCG. I guess to me when you hear about Vick all the time from those idiot falcon fans of how great he was in every single way you can forget that not everyone thought the same way.
