Im confused

Bonnell says that if our first round pick is 17th or lower we have to give it to Denver and if we make the playoffs we wont have a first round pick.

But if we make the playoffs as the 8th seed wouldnt that give us the 15th pick and we would be allowed to keep it?

Am i misreading or is Bonnell wrong?

Hmmmm, I was always under the impression that if the pick was somewhere in between 12 & 17 we had the option of giving it to Denver, something I am pretty sure the FO would want to do. I've read that several scouts are calling this upcoming class very weak (perhaps worse than 2006) so a pick outside the lottery is really a crapshoot.

if it's picks 1 - 16 we keep it, if it's above that they get it.
