It's a bit more complicated than "nothing you do in college matters." It's what skills you showcase and how they are supposed to project to the NFL level. The reason Luck is so high rated is because he's thought to be a very complete passer in terms of fundamentals, who makes good decisions, has good mobility, etc. You'd have to talk to actual scouts about the specifics. But a lot can change in a year, and what the media thinks of a guys ratings aren't always what teams think.

Honestly, isn't it a lot of this pure perception and, IMO, a little bias. I read an article on the NFL.com site on Terrell Proyor and if u didn't know any better u could have sworn they were talking about Cam. The same generic and stereotypical "just because" write-up.

I also remembered when Jake Locker was preceived to be a top pick for the 2010 draft but during the this past draft, he was scrutinized to no ends over his so called lack of accuracy; which miraculous got better as the draft day drew closer. Go figure.

Those backfoot throws are so hard to watch at times.

We watched Delhomme do it for years.......shouldn't be that painful over the course of 2 preseason games.

Right, but I haven't seen a breakdown of this nature done before in this forum.

People have these strong opinions about Cam and I thought this thread would provide a chance to speak in specifics instead of generalities.

If you feel a certain way about Cam you can point out the specific plays that cause a given opinion.

While I appreciate the writeup, I have already kinda put that game behind. At this point I've gotten a bit bored of discussing it (no offense intended, I liked your writeup), and it gets kinda exhausting because of osme of the responses.

In general I agree with your assessments. I had never really even thought of Cam in any kind of "Cutler" way, but I see why you mentioned that. My major concerns with Cam all come down to his accuracy and consistency as a passer... and no amount of discussion is really going to change that.

I'm hopeful we'll see major strides tomorrow night, though.
