So I read this thread, then I decided to go to the store and get some Funions, and as I was driving back I realized, this guy is right! We haven't fixed the WR, DT or CB positions. Damn, this season might not be as good as I thought.

Over tha year ago the panthers drafted 3 receivers. This last draft, they added another.

We also added two good tackles from this last draft.

The Panthers have been drafting defensive backs every year. Yes they are later rounds, but it is what it is. You cant have all your draft picks in the first two rounds.

I warned everybody early in the year, that signing our guys was going to cost more than they thought it would. And it did. A few didnt get signed high as they could have been (charles johnson, anderson, davis) one got more than even i expected (williams).

Everyone thought we were going to have all this money to go spend on free agents, when they couldn't even grasp how much it was going to cost to keep our good pplayers that we needed to keep.

There just wasn't going to be money available to go hog wild in free agency.

We got two good tackles out of the draft. That is addressing the position. They are good young players. They will get better throughout the season. I don't agree that the players available now would be an upgrade over our starters. Their experience will add to our rotation and coaching the young guys..but give the guys a chance to play. Which many of you are not.

Cornerback. We've been adding guys every year. Ya can't just load up on high draft picks...good players come from other rounds also.

It would have been nice to add a vet, but good vet cb's aren't cheap. The others would struggle to even beat out captain. Let the competition work it self out.

As for qb, i still say we should have res-signed Moore..but it is what it is. We have a lot of weapons for our quarterback. If they can't make plays with these guys, then they don't belong in the league.

As much as i didn't want to draft cam....let him lead this team. It's going to have it's ups and downs, as everyone should have expected anyways.

I am excited for this season. Playoffs or not, we're going to surprise a lot of people...even our own fans.

As others have probably said...getting Gamble and Smitty (and really even Otah for that matter) will minimize CB and WR's as needs...still hoping some quality guys come available after cuts though...

WRs...Gettis going down really hurt. I hope next draft they find a guy who's big and physical like a Marshall, Vince Jackson, Dez Bryant type..

On the way home from work today I just realized. We did not adress

the CB, DT, nor WR positions. I know we did resign some key players

and brought in some TEs. For the past few years we have been soft

at these three positions. With a rookie QB we may be looking at the

same team we saw last year. Teams will put eight and nine in the

box and at times double Smith. Teams will run between the tackles

for big yardage agianst our week front four "DT". Oh I almost forgot

and pass on our week secondary !!!!!!! Maybe this is just a brain fart ?
