What does Cam have to do

Facts and logic are often very frustrating to those blindly gulping down THIS

So let's go. Whip 'em out.

We are all big boys here, and a majority of us understand things like facts and logic.

Let's see what you've got that someone other than your niece will understand.

No doubt, Jake did not look good in this most recent game. Who has looked better so far this preseason?

(Cue impressive homerism below)

I don't know. I watched the Tennesse's first game and Jake hit a couple screen's and a couple crossing routes a couple quick hitters on roll outs. Then he fumbled a snap, picked it up, and the CB quit on the play and he threw a TD to a wide open receiver. It wasn't as great a game as his stats suggest.

Not taking anything away from Locker but he didn't exactly have any tough throws that game. And IMO he hasn't shown the ability to attempt the same throws that Cam did against NY. Not saying he can't, just that he hasn't done it yet.

SO if you are asking who has better stats then Jake Locker does but that doesn't mean a hill of beans. Locker also has better stats than Drew Brees so far in the preseason. Do you think that makes Locker better than Brees right now?

if you actually break down cam newton's probability of succeeding to percentages, either way, you probably don't really understand what you are talking about

Great, show me the error here.

Name the running QBs in the NFL (go back even say 15 years?) and how they lead their teams to title(s).

There should be several with similar skill sets to Cam, so this should be fairly easy.

I wasn't aware I had ever mentioned stats when discussing Locker vs Cam this preseason. Have I?

I'm surprised you were impressed with Cam vs NY. Which throw(s) impressed you?

Again I did not want to post stats but comparing him to a QB that is not a winner, came from a spread offense like Cam, and hardly played his last year in college, had a worse supporting cast, a worse offense scheme and a worse defense, I expect Cam to put up really good numbers. Guys the NFL has changed, it doesn't take 3-4 years to rebuild anymore, look at Ryan, Flacco, Sanchez, Bradford.

People are just scared he's not that good and want to set the bar low for him.

200 ypg for the best passer in coege football history? Nothing

go back a few months, chance one or two words, post this under a different name and you'd be getting pie and swag left and right, hahaha

I don't know a "running QB" could have 3,000 passing yards and 30 tds.

Just because a guy has a lot of rushing yards doesn't mean he is a running QB. Simple minded people tend to try to put people in a box so the can just say "running QB = bad NFL QB" That way they don't have to actually do any work they can just separate everyone to their box and make broad generalizations based on what box that person is in. :o

Great, I'll make it simple for you. Any QB with NEAR the rushing stats in college that Cam had. I'll let you define "near".

Ready, go.

20 Tds and 9 INTs is flat out comedy....it shows that some here love to type, but don't care to have a clue. It could be the most idiotic thing I've read here since comparing Cam to Big Ben.

I put Cam's chances for long term success at around 5%. For him to show me that he is on track to prove me wrong, he would need to show that he is developing into a competent pocket passer. No problem with running when you have to, but if he isn't developing from the pocket, he is a waste of time.

If we wise up and move him to a better position, like WR, then it's likely I will be happy with his development much sooner.

"wise up and move him to a better position, like WR"

anyone that thinks that Cam Newton should be playing WR instead of QB is someone that doesn't know a damn thing about football. elaborate on his horrible throwing mechanics. i dare you.

the "error" is that you think some lousy numerical estimation has any relevancy to anything you wrote. How did you come up with it? Did you simulate 20 scenarios in your head and only one came up with Newton holding a lombardi trophy? Did another 4 of them end up with him at WR?

Not exactly sure what you are asking for.

You say you have facts and figures so compelling even your 6 year old niece finds it obvious.

So where are these facts and figures other than that a running QB, as you define it, hasn't won the Super Bowl?

Is it just that a QB with exactly the characteristics of Cam hasn't won the Super Bowl? What about a Sam Bradford clone?

Just share with the uneducated masses these obvious facts and logical conclusions.
