Nah, I've been wrong before, and unlike most I have no problem admitting I am wrong again.

Odds are not in favor of that here, though. All evidence in the history of the NFL says that Cam Newton will not be a successful QB. Drinking the koolaid doesnt change the fact boys.

As for me being disappointed if he doesn't play WR....I dont expect him to. This pick was blown, there is no going back. No chance he ever plays WR, though if by some miracle he did, my opinion of this pick changes drastically.

rookie year: 11 games, 9 TD, 18 ints

second year: 15 games, 11 TD, 18 ints

Mr. Aikman turned out pretty well.

Not saying Cam is Aikman, but it is proof that learning on the fly means you will take lumps, no matter the QB.

Since he has played zero games in the NFL....what are the facts and where is the logic?

I hate to say it, but if he plays as well as Vick and listens to his coaches, like Vick is doing now. Cam will be fine. Vick was first and made mistakes and hopefully Newton was paying attention.

Odd, my 3rd grade niece understood this perfectly. There is no precedent for a QB of his skills leading any team to a SB.

His "skill set" is indisputable. He is a RUNNING QB with great size and speed. Great arm strength and competitiveness. Poor pocket skills, poor accuracy, poor mechanics throwing the ball.

I am certain that EVENTUALLY a running QB will win a Super Bowl....but do we really want to be chasing after pipe dreams with such terrible odds?
