What does Cam have to do

{What does Cam have to do} for you to consider him a success this year? Stats, Wins, whatever else you want to throw in there.

Thanks

I want to Cam to be better at the end of the season then he was at the beginning.

I want Cam to adjust to the speed of the NFL game.

I want Cam to make more good plays then bad plays.

I want Cam to learn when and how to use his mobility as a weapon.

I want Cam to keep his aggressiveness and willingness to throw the ball downfield.

I want Cam to be an apt pupil.

I want Cam to make some big plays.

I want Cam to help the team win.

I want to Cam to improve:

o his efficiency

o his blitz recognition and pick-up

o throwing on balance (footwork) but I'll take throwing on balance in the meantime

o consistency

Here's what I already think of Cam:

o I think he's a leader

o I think he's eager work on his craft

o The game isn't "too big for him"

o I think he's earned his teammates and coaches trust

Improvement is the word I would choose.

Stats are meaningless as I posted in the other thread where you got this question from. If you hard pressed me for his numbers I would have to take some time to think about it and I'd like you to post yours as well.

I prefer not to form my opinions on a player's performance from their fantasy numbers the past week.

Framed in a way where your it's still subjective and an opinion thus never having to admit you were wrong. Just give some goals or milestones. I don't know why my question requires deep analytical thought.

Att: 475

Comp: 285

Yds: 3,280

TD: 20

Int: 16

Rating: 80.1

Even with that, it's how he gets them that's important.

Bradford:

Att: 590

Comp: 354

Yds: 3,512

TD: 18

Int: 15

Rat: 76.5

YPA: 6.0

Comp %: 60

I expect Cam to be a little better in a better offense, better weapons, better pure passer coming out, better runner to keep defense off guard, etc.

I know you are taking a not so veiled shot at what some Huggers said, but Cam is not a better passer at this point than Bradford was at this time last year. And I don't suspect his stats will not be as good as Bradford's in his first year IMO.

Although if he can reach those numbers that would be pretty huge for his rookie year.

I would say keeping his INTs in the low teens, getting double digit TD passes and rushing for 5 or 6 tds and a completion percentage of @55% would be about what I would expect.

    • I'm still not touching Hunter He again said the other day that he plans on playing both sides of the ball in the NFL.  If he is allowed to do that, he won't be as good on either side as his potential and he's going to have serious injury issues and have a short career.  If he's not allowed to do it, I think he's going to become a problem when the team isn't winning as he's going to feel him not being used on both sides of the ball is why. He's being coddled in that environment with Deion and I think it's doing a disservice to him to prepare him for life in the NFL where your coach isn't a 2nd father to you, to where you can just walk into his locker room and steal his shoes like Hunter does to Deion.
    • He’s a tad behind them. Around 15ish of 32 starters in the league. He’s well ahead of a lot of guys. Tua, Bryce, Cousins (present), Rodgers (current), Devito/Jones, Minshew, Russ (current), Watson, Smith, Carr, T Laws deep ball is weak as poo IMO, there’s plenty. And it’s not like everyone is ripping 60+ers. The key component is if you can rip and maintain velocity of the 30-40 yarders which he does super well. Legit every report out there from Brugler to PFF to PFN document him as good/above average arm strength.  Eye test tells me it’s pretty much that as well, slightly above average.
    • 6-10 carries for  35-45 yds and 3-5 catches for 15-25 would be great.
