Rewind back to April

You can hit some people right in the face and they still wouldn't see it.

you mean like a rookie QB could step on the field for his first preseason action and throw for 100 + yards in his first quarter of play with no turnovers and someone would be like.....good gawd this dude blows. I expect no less than 2 TDs and 200 yards per Q. Who cares if most of the reps rookies typically get were taken from this kid prior to their first preseason action.....preseason is serious business!!*()@#&$@# (head explodes).

I don't see it.

This is because, no offense, you are totally pro-Cam. I wanted the draft to be heavy on defense (DT #1) and a couple of offensive guys. WR and QB I wanted to get in FA. Again, Kolb might have been expensive but he's been in a WCO offense and on a successful team with regular season starts under his belt. It didn't go down way, but that's why the thread is "Rewind back to April".

I consider myself neutral in the Cam/Clausen debate and I see it on both sides as well. The funny thing I got in this thread to talk about Dareus and, as usual, it turned into a pro/con Cam debate.

So u got into a thread on a site that is dedicated to a team that has Cam Newton as their #1 pick regardless and a thread that is called "rewind back to April" and u expect to not have the conversation become about Cam but Darius...REALLY?

What does Cam Newton have to do to prove himself to you. Lay it out there...give me the wins and stats he needs. If you don't you hate him for a whole other reason which goes beyond stats and wins.

Go.....

And TRD answer this for me as well. I just want to have a baseline for you and GrG on what Cam needs to do to prove himself to you two.

Then instead of picking him apart we can judge him on a body of work instead of every snap of the ball.

Thanks.

Cool, pile on guys, read back a few pages where I wanted Kolb. Again, assumptions are being made that I wanted Jimmy to start this season, especially the Johnny come lately to the thread guys.

wasn't ever a fan of the kolb idea. i see kolb and matt moore being on equal levels and that isn't meant as a compliment. the system had a lot to do with his success. i see him as a mediocre talent. thought the asking price for him was going to be way too high and it was. cards got raped. not just in what they had to give up in the trade, but that contract is waaaayyy too rich for him. imo, a much bigger gamble than it was for newton, esp. financially.

How about 5 wins in 16 games. Jimmy didn't have 16 games but i'm giving Cam a little leeway.

And i find it funny you accusing me of alterior motives when i've been a huge supporter of Pryor playing quarterback and not wideout or tightend.

Nope. Good try, but it doesn't have to turn into a pissing match either. If you don't sing Cam's praises, you are labeled and branded. Sad but true. At the point Cam starts looking like the hype, I will sing his praises too. At this point the rookie QB is apparently the starter that, frankly...still looks like a rookie QB.

*****IMPORTANT NOTICE****** This disclaimer is signifies the expressed opinion of a non-journalist and not meant to harm, or defame an all-world rookie QB on the Carolina Panthers. This is merely an opinion. You may go back to your regulary scheduled activities.

Me being Pro-Cam does not cloud my judgement of professional opinions, or opinion of others. It's just that I've never seen you post anything in the gray, neutral, or positive on Cam Newton.

Not that you have to, nor that I care. However, don't say "cause I like Cam" that my opinion of him is always going to be +29394443 in his favor.

I've always been on the bandwagon since day #1 when he was drafted that this team should have signed/traded for a vet, and let Cam sit. Only because I expected him to struggle with the learning curve in the NFL.

But contrary to that popular belief he's looking quite alright in that regard, and just needs to polish up on his footwork.

Which was to be expected.

I have said on numerous occasions that Cam has poise in the pocket (this thread even) and he has a hell of an arm. Do I say it all the time, no, because I'd be preaching to the chior. It's absurd to say I never have anything good to say about Cam. Now, I am questioning whether he's fit to be the starter NOW, that would go for Gabbert too if we got him instead.

At least we agree we should have got a veteran, probably not named Anderson either, although you wanted a mentor and I wanted Jake v. II (but better).
