Smitty set to play vs Bengals

I understand being tired of the same old poo, I get it... but he didn't bring Matt Moore up. you may want to spread your anger to the other people who insist on bringing moore up whenever trd says anything.

so many on this board bitch that all trd does is talk about moore but a significant portion of this board seems intent on spewing garbage related to moore to piss him off.

See the post right above yours

The problem is the mods here encourage that behavior so nothing will change. This board will keep going down hill and eventually all the people who try and talk football will just lurk and it'll be overtake with gifs and stories about seeing Cam in public.

See my response to JT earlier in this thread where I quoted another thread, yet people still act like I bring him up all the time.

Weird reality they live in.

Smitty is a competitor, he wants to win.

If he's not winning, he wants to put up numbers because he wants to be known as one of the greats.

I don't care how much you think he likes you, if those aren't happening, expect drama.

glad you can find yet another thread to bang a drum on.

steve smith is a competitor. I expect him to want to win, and play hard. That is what makes him special.

As for drama?

I can think of many other receivers that have drama.

I don't consider what steve smith brings, as drama.

Every offense needs a steve smith.

Yet there were many, and there are still others who would love to ship steve smith off.

Now to get back on subject. ... bring it stevie!

I have a very realistic outlook on things. It's not bad what big cat did, just no reason to sugar coat it. The NFL is a business and he needs to look out for his money, fine.

Don't lie and say you want to set yourself for an instant winner or this or that, just say you want to save money because you're not sure there will be football and you don't want to be paying a coach or players when there is no football.

We were 2-14 and made one significant improvement, brought in a new QB and new coaches on both sides of the ball. Despite recent success, that isn't how it always happens. Plus we looked terrible against the Dolphins who some here think will be in the Luck sweepstakes, not a good indication for us.

Honestly not much to be cheery about, if you were to let football effect your mood at all. If you don't, you can just observe things as they are and don't need to spin them to make yourself feel better.

Every pessimist I have ever met has said "I am a realist" or "I am just honest".

It is okay to get excited about things. It is okay for people to be excited about new coaches, QBs, new season, etc. It is okay for fans to support their teams and be homers.

Turn your frown upside down. Have a good day for once :)

It is San Diego so it is safe to say it is a beautiful day. Enjoy it.

Oh yeah. Maybe try to let others enjoy it too. Don't be the world's personal Debbie Downer. Just so you can "keep it real"

They have a new offensive system and completely new RBs.

We made someone who lost his job to Pierre Thomas look like AP running through the middle.

I don't care that we lost, score doesn't matter, it's how we looked, it was bad.

Again oblivious to everything, otah was out, smith was out, and Beason all major stars. The falcons have lost all their preseason games, and I guess they're horrible too? Saints lost to the texans I guess they should call it a season, as well? Everyone is tired of your bitching about OUR team. Jr knows what he is doing and that's why he'll be more successful then you'll ever be.

There are plenty of threads where I let wild optimism run wild.

You can have as much wild optimism as you want, but when I argue against it and you have no real backup for it yet act like I'm the idiot, I'm going to crush your optimism.

Being too optimistic is not good for you, it's not a healthy lifestyle. Balance is the key to everything in life.

I already said I don't care that we lost, the fact that you don't understand that shows you're not competent enough to have this conversation.

Also the fact that you believe JR wasn't just looking out for himself last year also shows you are either in denial or totally incompetent.

JR has done a lot of good things, last year was not one of them.

Why the hell would he do anything when a lockout was pending? Or the fact that there were many players that were free agents at the end of the season. Beason said JR told guys he would pay them a long time ago, and kept his promise.

Great...should have fired Fox, signed some helpful veterans last year or this year, etc to make this team a winner. We had the space, right?

That's why we sat through that shitty year, was to be set up to be a contender in FA and for the Playoffs year in and year out.

All we did was resign our core from a 2-14 team and let our defense get worse.

Sorry, not buying it.

i have to admit that I was a pretty big JR supporter last year, but this year really disappointed me. I understand we're rebuilding and setting ourselves up for the future, but I feel like the only major addition we made outside of the draft was Olsen (other than our coaching staff ofc), and while he was certainly a huge pickup, I still am a bit disappointed that we didn't land any of the young big names that really coulda helped us... but I guess that doesn't fit the plan of "build through the draft."

Were we supposed to let our best players go? You're the one not making sense, okay you have no logic whatsoever. The more you type the more I laugh. And if we would have let them go you'd still be bitching, there is no pleasing TRD, not even sure your "wife" could do that

No reason to bring my wife into this conversation...just shows the type of person you are.

I'm glad we signed our core guys, but you want to improve, become a consistent winner, be feared.

The point of tanking a season and cutting payroll is to set yourself up to do some big things, we did nothing. We still have huge holes at CB, DT, RG, possibly RT, WR2, and as of now QB.

We got better at TE and conceptually with our coaches.

Not worth the poo JR put us through. We're no closer to winning our division than we were last year.

couldn't fill all of them, but I wish we could have filled a couple of them.

I guess CB/DT/WR will all be better when injured guys make it back, but CB especially all we did was draft a guy with an injury and I feel like it's a major area we've had to address for years and just not really done anything with it.
