he said it looks as if he has a long way to go

not really going out on a limb there

you guys have to understand that these pros strategically say things to incite you or excite you without saying anything at all. Unless he has sat in all the meetings, watched all the live reps, and watched all of the film of the live reps, he is not qualified to speak on such things. There is a reason why coaches make as much as they do. They know the game. The pros behind the mics are playing a different game entirely.

Dissecting another person's opinion whose sole purpose in life is to sell ad space is about as useless a habit as anyone can ever get into. One might argue that a crystal meth habit may even be more productive long term.

This preseason Drew Brees is completing 44% of his passes. He also has a long way to go right? smh Relax. It will be a bumpy ride and Cam is going to look like a rookie QB. That is just part of the process.

Guys like TRD seem to think that he should complete 70% of his passes and have 25 tds and only 6 picks. That is an unrealistic expectation by someone as smart as TRD. :(

doesn't sound like he said anything far fetched or over dramatic.. Cam has a long ways to go and I wouldn't be opposed to watch him on the bench at least the 1st half of the year..

if he starts, awesome.. I'm looking forward to Thursday's game..

Anybody who says that Cam's completion percentage wouldn't be higher with Smith on the field is a moron and knows nothing about this team or how defenses play us. Guys aren't open. I saw on sportscenter today they said that our TEs and HBs have caught about twice as many passes as all of our receivers combined to this point. That says a lot. Guys are just not getting open. Mainly because there is no Steve Smith to demand coverage to be swayed to his side. Mismatches will come this Thursday, and when they do, you will see more completions.

Having said all that, the OL needs to play better and Cam needs to stop throwing off his back foot (which leads to underthrowing/overthrowing. I'd rather see him run or take a sack then to continue to do that.

What does any of that have to do with him throwing the football?

Tell me how the game plan made him bounce passes...

We aren't expecting great results, just better overall play, regardless of outcome.

They would produce more positive outcomes that would mask his rookie mishaps you just mentioned. Do we really have to spell out everything to you? You're just playing dumb and trying to get a rise out of people. You can not be that dumb.

Who cares what any of these talking heads on any of these shows have to say? I wasn't a fan of Cam in college mostly because I'm a Gamecock fan, but Im 100% behind him now simply becAuse he is a Panther. I think in time he will be a very good QB for this team. Is he ready to start, maybe not. Only the coaches know that and I'm going to trust them to make the right decision and dont give one $hit what any of the talking heads think. I'm excited to see what Cam can do Thursday.

I think most people say that because even with Smith on the field, catching one hoppers off the turf still don't count...he may catch more of them but it will net little to no yards...just like they do now

I listen to The Herd everyday, working in a welding shop the radio stays on all day and at 10 a.m. its either Colin or Beck. I choose The Herd not because he is insightful but because Beck makes me want to sell all my earthly belongings, buy gold and move to the mountians Eric Rudolph style. You have to understand that Colin doesnt pay small market teams much attention. His words "its a company not a dot org". So basically anything he says about us or any other small market team has to be taken with a grain of salt, as he is just regurgitating what he has heard from other media members. He has about one original thought a show and sometimes not even that many. I also dont like how he will rip someone apart i.e. Micheal Vick, but as soon as he has them on his show he tosses them softballs and kisses their ass, he has no back bone. Although to his credit he did tell Peter King last year that he was crazy for picking us a suprise team and in the same breath picked the Cheifs to do well, so there is that.

So how does he feel about the other QBs? Are they ready, especially their choosen QB, Blaine Gabbert? Is he the next Sam Bradford?

Judging by the mindset of some of these sports folks, Cam will never be ready for obvious reasons.
