The smart thing to do is have at least a couple weeks worth of food, water, and basic supplies in a closet. Doesnt take up that much space, and if you just buy a couple of items of non perishable food every time you grocery shop, maybe a case of water once a month or so, its fairly easy and inexpensive. Just make sure to rotate your stock into your regular meals to keep stuff from sitting for years.

Stuff like dry beans and rice might keep forever, but waste way too much water and fuel to prepare. Canned beans, veggies, fruits, meats and fish are best, imo.

Still no power. 3 days straight now. F*ck man. Like I've been much longer without power, but it seems a lot worse when you're a college student and you can't take showers or use the internet without going to a friend's house.

Pay yo bills mayne!

Where are you at that you have no power? We only lost it for like 3 hours... it was off at my office for a while (over on Wrightsville Avenue) but it's on there now...

Power was only. out a short while, cable /internet/ phone are still out here.

Finally got power back on around 3 or 4 today.

Greenville looked bad yesterday. Chris went to feed the utility workers, and it was a mess. He was on the cooking truck and a live wire hit him going down the road. It was still during the storm, and he was blown all over the place even in the truck.

He's in Enfield right now feeding the utility workers. He said it's terrible there. His word was "destroyed" for the area he's in right now.

Lots of trees down here. Some roofs gone. Medlin Buick/Mazda, which got hit by the tornado earlier this summer, sustained more damage. My mom's pecan trees dropped large limbs, but none hit the house. We just have limbs down.
