Hurricane Irene..

I'm all for taking things like this seriously but this one looked pretty weak all along. Unless you lived right on the beach or in a very low area there wasn't too much to worry about. I said I would post some pics but nobody wants to see leaves strewn about my yard... cause that's the extent of it.

The other thing that kills me is the media coverage... they're straining to find any little thing to report. Downed trees, people in the wind tripping, you name it... it's more than silly.

I wanna see some football tonight, if they pre-empt the game with more of this silly coverage I'll be pissed.

people on the coast were going to take a hit.. no doubt about that, and I would be concerned if I lived there..

everyone else should have stayed the f**k home.. oh, and the news is complete joke.. always has been, I love how people watch that poo religiously..

It could have strengthened and turned into us, but even if it had it wouldn't have been stronger than Fran or Floyd, and we had 110+ mph gusts during both of those... and it was not a problem, so I wasn't worried about this one. If one comes at us with the capability to bring 125+ then I'll leave, but where I live it's not really a problem even though we're only 2 miles from the ocean.

My wife was dying for updates every 30 minutes last night, she was driving me nuts... the thing hardly moves in 30 minutes... we watched some of the local coverage and the weather channel... the weather channel is particularly bad about making a big deal of nothing.

Yep, when we have fires here in SoCal the coverage would make you think the entire fugging state is in flames. Makes people watch, sells commercials.
