Trade Clausen to the Colts

Clausen is fine where he is why in the hell would we regress back to the 'no competition' era of Fox and just let poeple assume their positions?

Amen to this~ So far neither Clausen nor Cam has stepped up in a big way. With Cam being the first overall pic, the hype surrounding him, and his obvious swag, f Clausen were to leave I could surely see Cam getting this "my poo dont stink" attitude knowing full well that there was noone behind him to challenge him for the starting position. (I love the way he seems to have such fun...but really hate to see him smiling and laughing after making a bad play)

Clausen may not be great..he may not even be good...but so far in the preseason he has stayed fairly even with Cam (slightly better considering Clausen has led drives that ended in points)..and that kind of competition between them will only benefit and make both of them better.

No one here doubts Smitty's talent, and look how he "performed" with David Carr and Jimmy at the helm.

The best we could hope for is a backup Colts player at a position of strength or a late round pick for Jimmy. Not likely to happen even if the Colts were interested.

Fwiw, I think the Colts are far more likely to just pick a Qb in the draft this year to groom as Manning's replacement.

Cam will obviously be the long term (and apparently short term) answer in Carolina. All feelings about Cam vs JC aside, what has JC done so far this camp/preseason that has everyone so down on him? Was it the pick 6 against the Giants? Other than that he looks really improved. He's only been in this offense a few weeks like everyone else on the Carolina roster. He's moving better with the foot surgery behind him finally and throwing with great accuracy. He's thrown downfield several times and has made solid reads. He's drastically reduced the balls getting knocked down at the line. I think if everyone could put last year behind them, even the haters may see that he has some solid potential. Just my opinion.
