We have Cow Killers out here too.

When I was working construction, we would always run across them.

A buddy was fuging around and got bit by one through a leather glove.

I just stepped on one of those red velvet wasps about an hour ago, was wondering what it was. Resillient little basstad made me step on him 5 times before he would die.

I got stung by what I assume to be a yellow jacket for the 3rd time in a month last Tuesday, all within 2 inches of each other on my lower left leg near ankle. Had swelling until yesterday. Since I can't kill the little fuggers that stung me, I'm going to kill all the other pests I can find till they go away in fall.

I have no idea how that one found his way into my bathroom as a teenager, but he lit up my thigh like a mother...

It was probably a failed assassin that put him there... One that I probably went on to kill at some point later in life...
