thanks...I do like the idea of having the inboard for the nice clean look at the back of the boat etc. Just was never sure if there was clear performance advantages to either etc. thanks for your input

Huge difference.

Inboard uses a motor based on a car engine.

Outboard uses a motor designed for marine applications.

Go test out both.

We have a Glastron SX-175 with a V6 inboard/outboard. IMO that is what you want... If needed, you can trim the motor up as far if not further than an outboard. Plus you don't have a big a$$ motor in the way of getting in and out of the boat.
