Newton starter vs Bengals, Week 1 starter TBD

Also Hardy is back at practice.

Cam will play 3 quarters.

IMHO The Panther missed a real opportunity to get Cam ready to play Week 1 by not playing Cam more in the 1st 2 preseason games.(Wasting reps developing a Clausen, a QB with no real future as a Panther)

I also think they should have scripted some plays/stream lined some high effeciency gameplans and let Cam go out there and build confidence, even play the Panthers 1s vs their 2s.

WCO teams have been doing the above for years w/ their young QBs.

But, I look forward to watching Cam against the Bengals.

Why didn't Cam complete the 3rd down conversation on his 2nd drive? I guess it was Cam fault for not using his mental powers to force Olsen to run his route to the 1st down marker instead of a yard shy......Cam is an idiot.

If it were Jimmy your response would have been something like this...Jimmy is an idiot that doesn't show one glimpse of NFL qualities...any QB knows that if you are third and long you DO NOT CHECK THE BALL DOWN. You have to get to the sticks...Why was Jimmy throwing to someone that wasn't past the sticks? GAWD what an idiot

after that drive.....Carolina was no longer even pretending to run their offense. No more running. They went ALL Cam with WRs that simply are probably consistantly playing worse than our QBs thus far in the preseason.....

There was no more running because it was 3 and out...3 and out...3 and out

it ain't all the QBs at fault for the chains not moving.....

LMAO

Lets go back and look at some of your post from last year

Green>than any wideout the panthers have had in uniform so far.

So thats it...all we needed was one good WR to move the ball? What the hell is this front office thinking?

Just noticed something...Green hasn't caught a single pass so yeah; he is doing it with half the talent we think we have

Can't blame playcalling for execution completley. If you want to blame the OL, recievers, QB, whoever, but come on. The playcalling wasn't so bad that we wouldn't complete a single third down conversion in the first half (and that includes the 2nd quarter when we were NOT playing the Fins #1s), and only get a small handful of first downs. Playcalling wasn't good, but neither was execution, from top to bottom.

I don't see why you think we're ignoring relevant information showing good he's done... I don't know of a single poster that has said he hasn't made at least some nice throws.

I also don't know what stats we're trying to use to show "how bad" he is. Most stats are people doing stupid stuff like comparing him to Bradford, manning, etc. Unless you mean that retarded bet about Cam vs TRD but that was not a serious part of this thread, so I wouldn't even pay attention to it.

My issues with Cam don't show up on a stat sheet anyway.

My retort wasn't really directed towards you, just a few idiots (you not being among them, lol) that have been trolling any and all threads that make mention of Cam to trash him. Another difference is the emphasis by these few on the BAD while just glancing over the good. I don't need to waste anymore letters or words to explain how to recognize a "troll" post, but they have been aplenty here lately.

And I completely agree with you about the execution. If you read my recap/perspective thread after the game, I mentioned it several times, especially when it came to the OL. But, I still had a major issue with playcalling. I also mentioned in that thread that Cam (and any other QB) needed a solid run game in order to have success this year. I have made the comparison of Cam and Big Ben several times over, as that is who I see him as with even more gamebreaking ability... But, take away the threat of the run from Big Ben and watch how much success the Steelers have. That was a big problem with the game Friday.

like this one? haha

How can you even say that when Cam hasn't even lead a TD drive in the preseason yet ??????

anyways, I understand your point, and you are totally right that Big Ben isn't very good without his run game, but he did put the team on his back a couple times his rookie year (er the offense) and drive them down field... I think in time we'll see cam do that too if he's the real deal. ;)

so your response is to ignore what occured and refuse to address.....and say if it was Jimmy.

That wasn't a checkdown throw. Cam threw the ball exactly where it was suppose to be.....Olsen didn't run his route long enough and that is why they were a yard shy.

No, there was no more running b/c Rivera is smart enough not to give Williams the touches at that point and to let Cam work on the pass.

The 2 drives they ran on...first didn't result in a 3 and out...and if Olsen would have ran the route he should have then they would have obtained the 1st down. After that, it was Cam and a bunch of bad WRs working on the pass game. Carolina opted to then quit running on running downs not risking Williams and working on what needed work ( that is what you do in that situation and was the right call).

Look up my posts from last year.....and tell me where I blasted Clausen when he made a noncheckdown throw and the TE/WR ran a short route to screw the offense.....I will wait.
