^^^^^ what? http://www.nfl.com/player/larryfitzgerald/2506106/profile 1100 yards, 90 receptions, 6 TD's isn't doing much? he had a quarterback situation comparable to ours and he still put up stats. if we can make excuses for Smitty having a down year they can do the same for Fitz.

if there is any receiver in the NFL that deserves a deal like this it's Fitz. guy is arguably the best receiver in the NFL and is pure class. love the deal for Arizona.

no WR deserves a deal like that. it's ridiculous. he's being paid QB money. He might be one of the better receivers in the league, but no receiver is worth that. not even close. we paid slightly over market value for our top 2 FAs, but they paid 50% over his last deal (which also was still the top deal for a WR at the time).

Just seems like too much.

But he is the best WR in the NFL.

Who are we as Panther fans to say someone overpaid.

Points @ DWill/LB-Johnson deal.

I call it like I see it.

Same when I called us out for the DWill and Johnson signing.

I just can't imagine that Fitz is going to get better, but maybe I'm wrong.

ITT: no one realizes how important Fitzgerald is to the Cardinals

He is their Peyton Manning/Tom Brady/etc. They would have lost a lot more money had they let him walk, because if he walked, so would thousands of other Cardinals fans.

He has a very good chance to end up a top 3 ALL TIME receiver. His play style doesn't rely on speed so he will be very productive well into his 30s.

Worth every penny.

I still dont think he is worth all of that money, but you are right about everything else. He will have a hard time getting the stats to become top 3 unless Kolb is the real deal though.

It's not though. Why do people think the rookie pay scale was put in? To free up more money for the veteran players. Contracts like this are going to happen more and more.

As for the Kolb thing, I think even if he's an average QB he'll continue to dominate. Hell, he put up another 90 rec/1100 yard+ season with Derek Anderson and John Skelton at QB lol.
