Last night's D looked like Fox zone but worse.

They called a very conservative gameplan offensively last night and I think that had more to do with Miami's defense than anything else. We have two young QBs and even with a short passing game, their defense was nearly getting them and did a couple of times.

I blame John Fox for softening our defensive players over the years. It just seems like they aren't playing agressively.

Also guys, this is a PRESEASON GAME, not the Super Bowl. Our young pjayers are still learning. However, I do hope that they've caught on by the third game at least.

My op was not a shot at Rivera or our coaches, I'm more than happy about our coaching staff... their a breath of fresh air.

My point is they played a more vanilla game last night and are keeping Cam in the pocket to see how he can handle the pressure. They have plays designed to roll him out and get him into space so he can run around, but there's no need because we all know that's his forte...their evaluating him and Jimmy to see who they want to start week 1, not necessarily using Cam to the best of their abilities to win the game.

That's all I meant when I put it on the coaching. I was not complaining but more trying to defend them by saying that they were more focused on evaluating than game planing, while Miami seemed more aggressive and had a little game planing.

If this was a regular season game, I would agree with the OP 100%. It's preseason though, so there is no telling how much they game planned, or whether they just wanted to work on a few specific things, regardless of what the opponent was doing.
