high school football parents...

... have got to be about the dumbest redneck SOBs on the face of the planet.

I just sat through a game where a group of dad's made complete asses out of themselves for most of the game. Our team lost, but it was competitive until the 4th quarter.

Anywho, I will say I don't agree with a lot of what our coach does. He runs it a ton, doesn't pass much but then again our talent level at QB and receiver is poor (we have one decent receiver). He's very conservative so say the least (makes John Fox look like Rivera). Even with the lack of talent we have at QB I would air it out once in a while just to keep the defense honest, but whatever...doesn't matter.

This group of fathers were ridiculing play calling from the first quarter on. Completely classless, non-supportive stuff. WTF. It was crazy. Mean spirited crap.

No wonder kids are so hard to coach. Parents are telling them stuff completely opposite from the coaches.

I almost stood up and called them dumbasses when they booed an illegal block below the waste call. They kept yelling "that's not a clip" "he didn't hit him from behind". Fuggers, in high school you can't hit below the waste on returns.

Whatever happened to a little support for the ol' home team? I know you want your little boy to do well, but jeez how about modeling some decent behavior once in a while. Last time I checked football was a team sport.

BTW, the opposing team was just as conservative and won by 20.

I swear these guys were worse than cowboys fans.

Doubt that would comfort or surprise anyone...

hey! I was a good coach. We played in the championship game 5 out of the 7 years i coached. The girls had fun and played hard. I coached my kid and the only reason i stopped coaching was because she reached the max age (18) and couldn't play for the city anymore. I'm still friends with many of my former players. Wish i could go back and do it again, good times.

Don't see the big deal. People are stupid and get competitive when it comes to sports (and their intelligence goes down a notch). Parents will outright believe lies they would otherwise know to not be true in order to keep things in their favor ("That wasn't a hold!!!").

It doesn't just happen with football. My sister played high school basketball at a small private school. She made the team as a freshman, but the first year or so, she wasn't very good on offense, but she worked hard on defense, so the coach played her a lot. The fathers of a couple of the players were extremely rude and even insulting towards her. During one of the games, I made a point of sitting down beside one of them, and made it clear through cheering that she was my sister, and then I turned to him and gave him a stare. I was about 6-3 and 220lbs at the time, so while I was sitting there, he was a little more respectful. :)

But eventually, the school ended up telling him and one other father they were not allowed to come to the games.

Yeah I coach basketball and I'm glad I can't hear comments from parents when I'm coaching. :)

These parents are just doing their kids a disservice by not pulling for the team. I'm a firm believer in "you're with us or you're against us".
