2010 QB Controversy in Carolina?

Recommended Posts

Yea by stewart and williams not even being an asset in the cardinal game (playcalling as well) they pretty much did throw delhomme out there with know where to throw it. If you find a better option for this season let me here it. Because so far ive heard pat white whos a god damn joke, derek anderson who is no better than delhomme and had winslow and braylon to throw to, cassel whos gone.

There is no excuse for any player to play as poo as he did. I dont care what you say. There's no excuse for making careless throws like he did.

Neither have I. I just want him to be good which he isn't. Nice try to put words in my mouth.

How was I putting words in your mouth? I never claimed or implied you said that. I was merely explaining that our expectations are different...clearly.

Dude its a team game, you gonna blame fitzgerald torching us on delhomme also?

Yes it is a team game, but it doesn't give a free pass for any player to play poo. And don't get dumb and say I blame Delhomme for what Fitzgerald did. I dont play games.

these apologists make me laugh out loud. Over the last 4 years they have really gotten good at making excuses for Joke. These ridiculous conclusions and excuse-laden diatribes are basically cookie cutter nowadays.

IMO the BDJS are solely responsible for making the average Carolina fan and casual lurker on the Huddle a dumber football fan, and until he is gone and they quit spreading their ridiculous propaganda we as a fan base will remain burdened with decent-at-times to mediocre fans who are still in "expansion team" fan mode in as far as their education is concerned.

I just get tired of these fuging excuses for Delhomme. Every damn time he plays bad it's either the o-line, running game, receivers dropping balls, play calling, the wind was too strong, he wore the wrong shoes, he forgot to eat his Wheaties. It's so absurd. When a player plays bad, he deserves to be called out on it! No excuses! If you thought it wasn't Delhomme's fault for why the offense was poo vs the Cards, you are a complete and total 100% blind homer. No if's and's or but's. I feel like Delhomme could walk up to the apologists and excuse maker's mother's and kick them in the shins or punch them in the face and they would still hug, kiss, and praise Delhomme for how great he is. Then make the excuse that little Timmy was the one that pushed Jake's foot into their mom's shins and made Jake's fist thrust forcefully into her face.

Then it's settled KK.

Our pain is mutual, our perspectives symbiant, and our disdain for the blind apologists supporting this guy is one and the same.

Any others?

Are you guys done with your elitist love affair over there? Delhomme is our QB, he's not elite but he's above average and does what we need him to. The AZ game was inexcusable but there's nothing we can do about it, there are no better options right now, and to be quite honest we're going to be fine with him under center. We can go to the Super Bowl on the back of Double Trouble, it's not in Jake's hands (unless the coaching staff puts it in his hands again).

We cant make it to the Superbowl with Delhomo anymore he proved that to us this post-season and the season through out. For anybody who says Jake got us 12 wins HE DIDNT!! Our o-line, running game, average defense, and steve smith won us those games. The only thing Jake gave us this year was 5 losses. He is a joke hes been riding steve smith all those years and its time for him to go.

I think most of you missed the point of my OP. Its not a question of Delhomme's talents or lack thereof. Agree or disagree, the Panthers front office has seen Jake as the answer at QB for the Panthers and within the right framework may continue to do so. But with his contract ending in 09 and 2010 being an uncapped year, possibly, Jake may be waiting for a big payday and even with another team. Right now the front office can't have that much confidence in their big name players given the Peppers situation.

If the front office and coaching staff have enough faith in either Moore or McCown, not a drafted rookie, then there could be a possibility they give them a shot. And this would not be unheard of, they did the same thing with Moose in 2004 and ended up with Smith having his breakout year in 2005.

That makes a lot of sense. Credit all of our wins to everyone EXCEPT Delhomme, but blame all of our losses on him?

ok fine i give him a little credit but i give John Kasey more credit than i give Jake hell jake has got one of the most ridiculous recievers of all time to throw to plus a season vet on the other side. Im just saying if we had anyone "above average" like alot of you been calling Delhomme odds are we would have a trophy at this point in time...................i would rather have collins back

what qb would u want to bring him to replace him? there isnt any FAs that are any better. there isnt in QBs in the draft that wil do better. and were not gonna trade for any QBs. jake is our guy. yes he had a horrible playoff game. and im sure hell be the first to admit that. but at the end of the day he wins games. and thats all that matters to me. i rather walk away from a game with a win than have a pro bowl QB and a losing team.

The defense shat the bed down the stretch and that killed us. If they held up against AZ Delhomme wouldn't have been in the position to screw us over. If we can play top-15 defense and get some intelligent playcalling from the coaches, our running game will carry us to the end, I'm telling you. As long as Delhomme isn't expected to win games by himself for us (like he was against AZ), we can let Double Trouble pound the rock all game and once in a while Jake can toss a bomb to Smitty. Ba da bing, ba da boom, hello Lombardi.
