Shotgun snaps = ? for the running game

It may just be me, but I think a big issue with the offensive scheme thus far is the number of snaps ran from shotgun. While I think that type of offense could be better for cam in the long run, I don't think it fits a run first or even a balance attack type of gameplan.

It seems to me that most teams that uses shotgun that often likes to spread the field out with multiple talented receivers and use the short passing game as part of their running game.

If that is true, then it makes me question the signing of D-WIll that much more. Whats the use in having all this $$$ tied up in our RB position if we aren;t going to run a style of offense that fits their style.

Maybe I'm wrong, if so I am sure someone will educate me on the subject.
