what happened in tonight's game? I was at work and missed it.

Reggie Bush transformed into Bo Jackson, Jim Brown, Marshall Faulk, and Barry Sanders combined.

Henne transformed into Joe Montana while our QB's threw dump offs, ankle passes, and 4 yard passes on 3rd and 8+.

That pretty much sums it up.

why didn't we score until late in the game? I was able to check the ESPN ticker for scores and noticed we were down 20-0 at one point.

Just the offense here, but...

The dolphins ate the clock, completely and totally. On our first possession Cam made a nice throw to Olsen for 12 yards, then couldn't find anyone open on 3rd and long and failed to pick it up on a run, so the Fins got the ball back. They took it in for a TD. Our second possession of the first quarter came with a minute left in it. We did manage a single first down on the first play of that drive again with a 16 yard pass to Shockey, but D-Will got stuffed and a Cam pass to Olsen for 7 yards was just short of the first down marker.

Cam played both quarters of the first half... We then went three and out twice and the Dolphins kicked a FG to make it 10-0 then 17-0. Cam ended the half with a screen pass Sutton took for 22 yards before his hail mary fell incomplete into the endzone.

We forced 1 punt against the Dolphins in the first half and we had only 3 first downs. They had the ball like 20 minutes behind Reggie Bush pounding us. Yes. Reggie Bush. Cam went 7/14 for 66 yards with a third of that coming on a screen near the end of the half. He had 5 drives and 21 plays. On 5 third down plays, he scrambled 3 times (not enough for a first down on any), and threw 2 complete passes (not enough for a first down). He also threw a hail mary on fourth down.

The second half was much the same, save that our running game started making small strides. Fins put up another field goal, and that was the 20-0 you saw. Clausen hit Clowney on a nice 30 yard pass that got called back because of an illegal formation. When he got the ball back with 3 minutes left in the third, AE caught a pass near the line of scrimmage, juked, and took it 9 yards. Sutton then converted to give us a new set of downs, and Clausen made a nice play to Brockel for 21 yards (short dumpoff, with Clausen literally at the line of scrimmage, stopping scrambling to find the guy before it became an illegal pass), then found an open Vaughn to bring us into field goal position early in the 4th. That made it 20-3. Clausen had like 53 of his yards on that drive alone lol.

The next Miami drive, Moore was sacked, we recovered a fumble on the 15, and Clausen hit Clowney on a 5 yard pass to keep the drive alive. Sutton then took it in from 4 yards out with some NICE running (he had gotten us inside the ten earlier in the drive).

That was basically it - the Fins basically ran the clock out after that. Defense forced 2 punts and a turnover, but it didn't look able to stop the Fins at all in the 2nd half either. Jimmy went 9/15 for 69 yards, with it all coming against 2nd, 3rd, and whatever string players, and he too had like a third of it come on one play. Clausen had 5 drives and 28 plays. On 6 third down passes, Clausen completed 5 passes, but only 2 were good enough for first downs.

This doesn't tell the story of various over throws, underthrows, throwing-off-back-foots, or whatever complaints were in this thread, but you can imagine what happened.
