Official Preseason Game 2: Panthers vs Dolphins Thread

Considering how poo the play calling has been, I highly doubt Jimmy comes in (with even lesser talent) and do any better.

I dunno, at times last year in preseason Jimmy looked okay against 2nd and 3rd string defenses with Davidson calling plays, so he might come out and light the stadium on fire since he seems to be much improved.

Cam has shown some mechanical issues, but this performance isn't on him. He's obviously missed some throws, but the receivers are doing crap, the run game hasn't done a thing and he's still a rookie facing a Dophins team that has obviously gameplanned and has a lot to prove, especially at home.

We're getting smashed on both sides of the ball, it's that simple.

Everybody is fugin up but in the future I'd like to see Cam do better throwing and recognizing. The throwing can be worked on during practice but the recognizing is gonna take some games like this.

In Cam's defense, we have no WR's to speak of....Neenot, Grease Hands Lafell, and Bust Edwards would bearly be on any other roster, much less see the field.

Don't come to his defense. Some of these folks are more concerned with everything Cam's doing and don't seem to be paying much attention to anyone else.

Amazing, the kid isn't being ruffed up like Sam Bradford was last year with his OTA and full TC when he started in his pre-season but why deal with reality. Cam is looked at in an extremely black and white manner. He either takes us to the Promise Land or he needs to sit until he gets perfect.

I guess that is what happens when the bar keeps getting higher and higher for you while someone like Andrew Luck is already seen as the second coming of Peyton Manning.

Short passes seem to be the kryptonite to our team. The CB situation is far and away the worst position on the team, and I thought that would be pretty obvious after the first half.

When the short passes still killing your team, you can't send more than four guys on the blitz, which lets guys like Reggie Bush go through the middle of the defense like it doesn't exist.

Find a true CB. Not some dude who just got waived. Get Asante Samuel.

Couldn't agree more about the CB position. I knew going into preseason but it will become obvious to people. Like you said, I am not sure picking up a player off waivers is the answer.

Sorry, but saying he didn't make any bad plays or whatever is just outrageous.

That one where he missed Edwards on an out route and threw it out.

The toss to #6 (Trent Guy) when he had 2-3 defenders on him.

The hailmary, he was pussying around, looking side to side as if he were going to run in stead of watching down field.

I like Cam, but he's not ready as of right now, from what Ive seen.

I think he needs some work, as well. But, after the first half, I would say that he is the least of our worries right now. We can't stop the passing game. Period. That's glaringly obvious.

The DB situation needs to be fixed sooner rather than later, or the way Miami made the DBs look tonight is going to be a huge trend this season.

(Btw, Naanee is #6. Trent Guy is #19.)

Why are we blaming receivers , I don't think I saw any drops the entire half , Cam kool-aid drinkers need to realize his mechanics are god awful and he looks nervous and scared on the field when he's in the pocket. It wasn't a receivers fault when he was throwing balls over there heads out of bounds , throwing an almost interception into double coverage and underthrowing by 7-8 yards down the field.

And my dear god at the lack of a pass rush. Charles don't turn into peppers. Did anybody else see Reggie Bush carry Sione Fua 3 or 4 yards ?
