When you have a "small market" team in a city that isn't as glamorous as say New York or Miami, it does wonders in the eyes of your own potential free agents to see that you will write fat checks if they are deserving of them. How many guys do we have that are, or were, the highest paid at their position now? Isn't Beason also? And I swore until recently Gamble was way up there too.
