Stewart, Goodson, Gamble and Barnridge all questionable for Miami game

he might as well be a first year player with the opportunities fox was handing out to young guys

not directed at you RR, but i find it laughable that the excuse of fox not giving young guys opportunities is fair to some players and not others. barnidge was held behind king because of his blocking and rosario for his supposed athleticism. barnidge has always looked great in practice, ALWAYS, but he was never going to see the field with fox running the show

so since fox isnt here anymore what is the problem if rivera cuts him? fox isnt still running the show is he?

Rivera would be dumb and maybe they should hire you guys as coaches right?

Apparently you have to be a really old player who had limited success under one of Chud's playbooks to be hired as a coach here and you get to wear a uniform on game day, it's just like baseball now.

The longest reception ever? That's the measuring stick between Jeff King and Barnidge? Seriously?

Then Tony Dorsett is the greatest running back ever, because he has a 99 yard TD run, and Walter Payton, Emmitt Smith, Barry Sanders, or Jim Brown don't?

You've got to be kidding me.

The guy had one catch in three freaking years that people remember. That was two years ago.

3rd string

Is he fast? Can he catch the ball ? Can he be used as a down-field threat ?

Answer those, that's all I want to know

can he block at times, does he run good routes? does he understand the new offense? Does he have a good work ethic? there is a lot more to the game then the first 3 things you said.

b/c if he is destroying our weak CBs that shouldn't be on the field w/ 1s....it is tough for the D to get in a good practice or for us to get a good feel of what we really can do.

and yes, with good QB play Marshall would destroy Gamble.....but not sure you will have that.

Fair point, but on the flip side, with your situation at defensive back....wouldnt you want to take advantage of a meaningless game (when it comes to W/L) and give your yuong corners an opportunity to face someone like Brandon Marshall and Davone Bess in a game situation?

I know I would.

i have no problem if rivera cuts him, but i seriously doubt he does. he knows this is a building process, he knows shockey is a loaner at this point on a one year contract, and i'm sure he knows barnidge brings the athleticism and pass catching ability chud likes in his offense

When has Jeremy Shockey had limited success?

x4 Pro Bowls, x1 All-Pro selection, x2 Super Bowl rings. Those things are indication of limited success, right?

Right?

would you really want to watch your 3rd or 4th string CB cover Steve Smith for a half?....even in the preseason?

but it all comes down to getting the QB play for it to matter though......if the QB play is on point it is just watching someone getting abused and the rest of the guys never get a chance to get going.

I can see both sides of the argument, but I think I agree with Henne Given Sunday.

It's going to suck watching those DBs have to cover Bess and Marshall, but, maybe that's what they need.

It's going to be fun watching how they react. Watching which one of them step up, and play their best, and I'm sure that's Rivera's line of thinking.

They are in the NFL. Absolutley I would. Especially with them not getting a lot of work against anyone worth a poo at Panthers practice (no offense to everyone not named Steve Smith)

If they blow hard, you learn from it, if they step up and play alright....then it's a win. Good experience either way imo.
